If the party wants to stop Bernie it would be very easy. Just get Obama to endorse someone.
If Obama endorses Biden formally I think it will help Biden moderately, but not dramatically. I think it is assumed by many that Obama backs Biden, even if it isn't official.

It would be absolutely crazy for Obama to formally back anyone but Biden, so I doubt that will happen.

However, if Obama doesn't formally back anyone and stays relatively silent, then I see that as a massive hit against Biden. You were Obama's VP for eight years, but you can't get his endorsement? But Hilary could? Good luck with that you lying, dog-faced, pony soldier.

A moderate bump would be exactly what Biden needs right now.

He didn't endorse Hillary until she won

What the hell does lying dog-faced pony soldier even mean. Gaffe master Biden strikes again.

True, but I don't know if he can wait that long for Biden. He seems to be trending downward and shooting himself in the foot every chance he gets.

Obama supposedly tried to talk him out of running. Was worried he would embarrass himself.

Apparently its a reference to a movie. It was a bad joke.

I won't call what Biden did a gaffe although the SJW crowd on twitter was already saying "He called a woman a dog face" and I'm guessing none of them actually saw the video because he was clearly joking, wasn't a great joke but he wasn't really calling her a dog. I don't want him to be the nominee and we all know he gives plenty of ammo to people who want to be critical of him but I don't think this is one people should hold against him.

As far as Obama's endorsement, I really don't know how much weight that would carry one way or the other but I doubt he endorses anyone until the general simply so he doesn't back someone who doesn't even win the nomination.

He is the most popular person in the party and would garner a lot of media attention so it would matter but I agree that he won't do it.

What's even less funny is that he said it was from a John Wayne movie, but it isn't. Apparently the movie it may be from is "Pony Soldier", and even then the quote is pretty far off.

So, I've been busy starting a new job, but I finally listened to the Democratic Debate audio while truck driving. It was mostly horrible.

I wish there was a No Anecdote rule in debates mostly for Biden and Kobuchar. I don't care about your family history get to the point.

I mostly still like Yang and Sanders I guess like JinCA. I think his main position of UBI is not just about basic income but a different Economic Philosophy. This time he tried an appeal to authority argument mentioning Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., but he could have explained it better so it doesn't sound like it's just reperations or welfare.

Otherwise, I just wish there could be a more freeform style of debate almost like a Podcast with no moderators. Let candidates take turns as the host in an almost sit down interview style format giving each an hour and a half time. At this stage, I think the number of candidates makes that feasible to do.

I also still don't understand why other formats like Netflix haven't been taken advantage of to deliver content on the candidates such as a debate. YouTube only carries the recording of the network.

The only problem with that is there is nobody in place to call out anyone when they say something that is obvious BS

I don't think the actually moderators do much of that though.

I dunno maybe there could be a kind of co-host. I do think there is a lot benefit to free flow conversation though and even aside from fact checking, you can learn a lot about a candidate's political philosophy.

The other candidates can do it though.

I don't see much difference between what you are saying and a town hall format. Debates need some actual debating.

Well if there was ever any doubt that the DOJ would be corrupted under Barr, there isn't any longer. Rule of law dead.

I'm at the point that I don't think there is anyway this country can recover.

Let's say, even if a dem president does win in November, and that is a long shot with how much electoral fraud is going to be committed by republicans. The moment a dem president opens investigation into every republican in trump's admin and congress, you know people are going to go nuts on the right....

And if a dem president comes in and doesn't do s*** to try to stop this corruption from ever happening again and goes for the "put it behind us" shtick, they are going to come out looking weak as f*** and we will end up right back with probably more corrupt republicans.

“Proceed, Governor.” An epic moment.

If a Democrat does manage to win, the GOP will investigate them immediately, before the inauguration. The "Tea Party 2.0" is going to suddenly appear and start screaming about deficit spending (notice how they are silent now).

It is going to make what they did to Obama almost respectful. Then they are going to come back with the "new and improved, non-Trump GOP" in 2024 and all of them will suddenly retroactively be "never-Trumpers".

That's assuming the Democrats can even win, if not, then it is Don Jr in 2024 and historians look back and try to figure out exactly when America ceased existing.

They will be investigated before they even win. Seriously. They just jumped the gun with Hunter Biden.

tsay, even if a dem president does win in November, and that is a long shot with how much electoral fraud is going to be committed by republicans.

The good news is that it was this asshat and not someone effective who could have kept the independent voters. Trump barely pulled off an electoral college win despite the most unpopular candidate he could face with public investigations and 20 years of attacks from the media, plus the baggage of a fairly rigged DNC process. Trump will lose, but the question is whether that will actually matter.

Yang is dropping out.

Seems a little early, unless he wants to bow out before the full count and it's impact on Delegates?

Well, it sucks I did like him. I'm glad he was able to get into the last debate at least. Maybe he can continue his message and critique of the economy writing another book or with media appearances and maybe discussions with people like Elon Musk with favorable views of UBI and an interest in the future impact of technology.

It would be cool if he could get a position in the next administration.

NH seemed to be the state he pinned his hopes. He probably doesn't have much of a team in the upcoming states. You don't want him to turn into one of these joke candidates that have no business still being in the race. He also had no chance to make another debate.

If he wants to run in the future this is the right move and if he wants a Democrat to win this is the right move.

Here's a clip from the email I got from Yang's campaign tonight talking about dropping out.

These are all things that people have said to me in the past days. I’m incredibly proud of this campaign. We have touched and improved millions of lives and moved this country we love so much in the right direction.

And while there is great work left to be done, I am the MATH guy. And it is clear tonight from the numbers that we are not going to win this race. I am not someone who wants to accept donations and support in a race that we will not win.

And so tonight, I am suspending my campaign for president.

This is not an easy decision. Endings are hard and I’ve always intended to stay in this race until the very end. But I have been convinced that the message of this campaign will not be strengthened by my staying in this race any longer.

Endings are hard. But this is not an ending.

Well, I just thought NH was still being counted is all. Thought he'd wait for the final count.

Unfortunately though, unless he showed a resurgence in momentum or gains in NH, he had to drop out.

You have more faith than I do lol.
