The End of the World: A Political Thread. A New Hope coming soon!

FWIW saw a Virginia poll last night that had Sanders and Bloomberg tied at 22% (I think) with Biden trailing at 18%. I really really hope that's not the case. Pretty sure I was gonna put my vote in the primary for Bernie regardless, but now I'm definitely doing it.

Its unfortunate Bernie hires hacks for important positions. Not the first time she has looked like Kellyanne Conway. Not a smear to want to know about the health of a man pushing 80 who just had a heart attack. Are they even going to be able to handle real attacks from Trump?

She's not wrong though. I'm no Bernie fan, but the health stuff feels like a BS attempt to take him down. Attack his politics and policies that will alienate centrist voters in the general, not this stuff. He's actively campaigning, there's no reason to think there's an issue.

Seems desperate; like something you would resort to only if you felt you couldn't challenge him on policy and leadership.

Every attack is an attempt to take him down but he is an old man who had a heart attack a few months ago. It will be brought up in the general. They can't just hand wave it away or distract by lying about someone else's health. This wasn't from a Bloomberg attack either he was asked about it by Anderson Cooper. It was a fair question and Bernie's answer was good. She should have just repeated what he said.

538 had the average at 3.9 and she won by 2.1

You shouldn't put much emphasis on one poll and they all should be taken with a grain of salt but its a misconception that the polls were way off.

2018 polls were pretty good
She didn't win. She lost. Total vote count is not what matters.

If you're hiding your taxes or medical records, that's legit shady. Afaik, he actually released then though, after the heart attack.

I hope he lives another 80 years but it isn't an easy job and he is no spring chicken. I wonder what vegas odds have for him to live out 1 term let alone 2...

Klobuchar basically telling Pete "bitch, please."

To think that Bloomberg spent 100s of millions of dollars just so Elizabeth Warren could murder his campaign in the 5 minutes of his first debate

I've only watched clips of tonight's debate but Warren was really letting Bloomberg have it, she cleaned his clock from the bits I've seen. I hope that along with what seemed to be a completely uninspired performance on his part knocks him down in the polls, the guy is as inspiring as a cinder block.

If neither of their polls move then you might as well just stop having debates because they obviously don't matter. I don't think anyone has ever had that kind of a beatdown in a debate.

It was f***ing brutal. It was honest, but brutal nonetheless. Warren had a good night because of it.

The rest had a good night, but I don't see much movement. Biden had a decent night, but I see his numbers dropping. He looked old yesterday compared to the energy of everyone else.

"Billionaires shouldn't exist" is the phrase that may decide an election. There's no better way to guarantee a Trump win.

If you want to talk about tax reform and how the rich pay next to nothing? Great. I'm with you. The minute you switch to "rich people are bad", you've lost me. You own't lose my vote of course, I'm in the AnyoneButTrump crowd, but think of all the people right of me who maybe don't hate Trump nearly as much?

This class warfare stuff will scare the average person. It scares me. I don't care what polls say now, just wait until the right puts the fear of socialism into everyone, while the other side is actually saying this.

Don't let Trump push you into a position further left as a counter. You don't have to be a boring centrist, but you can't go this far left. Talk about taxing the rich, that makes sense.

He isn't saying "rich people are bad", even if some people want to misinterpret it that way. He is saying the ultra-rich shouldn't exist based on the constructs of a properly regulated free market economy.
