The End of the World: A Political Thread. A New Hope coming soon!

Trump being on the news every hour hasn't been a good thing so far. Its a big reason Biden has such good leads despite not being a fraction as visible. Any normal Republican would probably be a really solid favorite because they would have rallied the country around them during a crisis.

The real concern is how easy is it going to be to vote? If we get a spike around the election than all bets are off in terms of people being comfortable going and standing a line. When you consider the voter suppression that exists anyway its a real concern.

Negative press doesn't seem to "stick" to Trump though. He may have a bad day, but he's got the next drama of the day to replace it. Bad news should hurt him, but it rarely does. Impeachment, massive pandemic, crazy statements, bold faced lies? Nothing seems to matter with half the country. I don't think they are paying attention.

Hopefully the updated poll numbers are available soon, but there's been ups and downs, but the overall trend is going up for him.

His nationwide against Biden is abysmal. I think it's 50 to 39. That keeps separating. His attacks on Michigan will only make it wider.

His approval is 43% on 538. Its higher than it has been through most of his presidency but I wouldn't exactly consider it to be a scary number either.

Look at the election polling too

The election is obviously not in the bag but the polls aren't exactly concerning right now either. We know he is so awful its embarrassing he even has a chance but if you put an R next to the devil himself he would still get 45% of the vote.

It isn't the overall number which varies from poll to poll, but the trend. Global pandemic and yet the trend is slightly upwards.

It is one thing for something complicated and distant like the Mueller report to go by, but this is directly impacting every American and roughly half of them think he's doing a good job?

Plus Trump will be able to "visit" places in key states, while Biden won't be allowed to campaign in person.

I really hope I'm worrying over nothing (and I do realize that the push for the election hasn't even really got going yet).

How insanely phobic of being associated with negative words one has to be to spin medical test results. His narcisism is really off the charts.

I've heard the following from relatives over the past few days:

"I used to think Bill Gates was a good person, but have you seen what he wants to do to control the populations in small countries???"

"Our governor should be ashamed of what they are doing."

"I'm boycotting any place that wants me to wear a mask. The mask isn't effective; it's BS."

"Soldiers died for my freedoms. I'm not going to wear a mask and give them up."

"We've lost all the economic growth Trump got us!!"

"Masks are actually bad for you. They are harmful to your health and increase the spread of disease."

"Don't believe the CDC."

"The CDC now says it can't be spread from surfaces. See??? I told you!!"

"Trump has been on hydrochloroquine and he isn't sick."

Its also trending down from 2 months ago

The pandemic should be helping him like its helping everyone else

I didn't realize this, but as soon as the lock down went into effect Maryland allowed the restaurants and bars to sell liquor just like a liquor store would in order to offset their loss in revenue. I wish it was like that all the time.

It's amazing how easy it was for them to get away with murder back then. When you see how beautiful she was and read the details of the story it's pretty obvious what happened. The woman was a marathon runner yet they say she had a "history of strokes" and a bad heart. She died because she fell and "hit her head", but the two police officers on the scene said she had a skull fracture :lol.

Oh, but there was an autopsy, lol.

Dr. Michael Berkland did the autopsy on Lori Klausutis.

It's a ridiculous question to ask. Trump creates so much traffic through Twitter it'd be crazy to ban him, regardless of Dorsey's politics or policies.

Mika's father was a very powerful man in world politics and I think she fancies herself as wielding enough power to get Trump kicked off Twitter.

What is the evidence that Joe Scarborough killed her?

I guess the question now is, who did Trump get away with murdering? Since he's always guilty of what he claims others do.

I guess you are waiting for some sort of smoking gun? A bloody glove? I think that's a pretty disingenuous question.

Obviously, he wouldn't have done the murder himself.

Why is the media trying so hard to argue that her death was not even mysterious?

Imagine how the #metoo movement would look if it was handled this way? It would just be a conspiracy theory about 200 women who died mysteriously.

There is no evidence that anyone killed her.

Its a shame people aren't more decent and realize that the woman had a family and probably don't want her being used for bulls*** political conspiracy theories.

I think that argument is incredibly transparent. Where was all this compassion for the family when they were begging for someone to investigate? An immediate family member came forward at the time of her death refuting Scarborough's claims that she was in poor health. Why did Scarborough even feel the need to say that?

This guy has been a life long Republican and now the left wants to make a hero out of him because he is a "NeverTrumper". The left shouldn't be the ones tripping over themselves to defend him.

And people shouldn't make up claims about murder regardless of their politics. There is no evidence she was murdered by anyone.

It's common sense that she didn't get that head injury from just collapsing. One of the police officers on the scene even mentioned the skull fracture. What's really the difference between him and Gary Condit?

Gary Condit has been living under a dark cloud for the past 15 years.

Well I am not sure what your point is about Condit. Most people falsely assumed he was guilty and still do but does that mean Scarborough should be assumed to be guilty of a crime there is no evidence even occurred? Doesn't make much sense to me.

Condit was at least investigated for a murder that actually did happen though. So that is a pretty big difference.

I don't fully trust Bill Gates I think he's shady AF. I'm not saying he has some diabolical population control scheme though. His interest in vaccines may be a genuine intellectual interest, but he may be using Africa as a petri dish. Again, not saying this is real malice, but more arrogance.

I also rewatched some of his old Anti-Trust testimony and I don't think a weird character like that should have so much power over the direction of world health.

I think this is a variation of a Rich person's delusion seeking grandeur or a legacy.

My issue is that it is pure deflection. Why are we talking about Gates? Because of an article from 20 years ago where he was talking about planned parenthood? His interest in vaccines? Please.

I don't trust him as in if I were a competitor in business I'm sure he'd do some shady s*** to take my business out but this whole thing about him trying to kill people with vaccines is crazy.
