So Obsidians new game is multiplat, but Crash Team Racing and Pathless are apparently exclusive? Come on Sony. Lol

Solid show. Liked seeing Dead Cells, Forza Horizon and God of War win.

Best role playing game going to a non RPG was weird though.

Best reveals were Outer Worlds and Psychonauts 2. Didn’t know Tim Schaefer was still making games so that was a great surprise.

Below coming to Game Pass was a nice surprise.

Good job by orchestras.

Show was a bit long but decent quality. Especially when you consider where it was a few years ago.

...and Nintendo got themselves a Marvel exclusive from Tecmo.

...and Epic pulled Ashen off Microsoft Store and Steam. No longer Play Anywhere.

Might be the one time Microsoft is playing nice guy when everyone else is bitch slapping them.

ResetEra is freaking out over the Death Stranding and Metroid no shows. They literally want to set up a firing squad for those that wronged them, lol. The internet is a weird place.

Awe boo, was hoping Celeste would be on sale :(
Honestly, it's not that great. If you have a backlog (like me) you're going to regret giving the game the 5ish hours it takes to finish it. It's a simple, fun game but not at all the 9-10/10 that the gaming media hails it as. Even read reviews from big sites saying the story is a emotional masterpiece lol
It's a cute story about believing in yourself and not some groundbreaking therapeutical artwork.

I do enjoy RDR2, but its more entertainment package /time sink than a game, like Vikings series I am watching. GOW is a better game, & you get more enjoyable/unit time. Which there are some backtracking, long boating, it was never as bad as RDR2.

In RDR2, you ride for 30 mins/ 3mins of fun gameplay or something. Traversing is like 90% of the playtime.

The graphics of RDR2 carried the game more than people perhaps realise (IMO).

No they aren’t. Nobody expects DS until 2020 or 2021.

I'm catching up on the Game Awards announcements this morning, having turned the show off after about an hour last night. There were a lot of announcements, more than I expected -- and more games that interested me than I expected, too.

I figured a separate "best of" type thread would help, rather than having people try to read through the long GA thread. So, here are my favorite reveals from the show. Chime in with your own comments or picks.

Journey to the Savage Planet

I like the humor and the SF setting. Might be a while before it comes out, since gameplay won't be shown until next year (which granted isn't that far away).

Ancestors The Humankind Odyssey

I'm not thrilled by the gameplay shown, but I do love the setting and the ambition of trying to create a game like this, spanning millions of years.

Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled

It's hard not to smile at this game. It's great that we're getting a good cart racer. June 21st.

The Outer Worlds

SP RPG with an SF setting and humor? Say no more. I'm in.

The Pathless

I'll buy anything these guys create. It'll probably be easy, like Abzu was, but that's fine.

The Last Campfire

This looks really nice. Definite Journey vibes. I heard it's coming to PC. Hope it comes to consoles as well. Good for Hello Games, trying a short project like this.

Far Cry New Dawn

Feb. 15th. The gameplay is very similar to Far Cry 5, but the post-apocalyptic setting allows the team to get a little weird, so it might be fun.

The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe

Funniest trailer I've seen in a while. I've always wanted to play this game, so I'm glad they're finally bringing it to consoles.

Forum is out for blood. Mods are extra angry. Lol

Banned me for insulting Valve. I said that maybe now that they have real competition (regarding Epic), they’ll stop being fat and lazy and invest in exclusive content. Maybe get off their asses and do something with Half Life. Did not know Valve was part of the protected class of people/things you weren’t able to talk ish about. I talked all kinds of ish about Microsoft when they weren’t investing in exclusive content.

There’s good communities within the forum but it’s best not to stray out of certain threads.

Outer Worlds and Psychonauts 2 made the show for me. Not just because the games were announced, they showed plenty of in game content and it all looked damned good.

Grim Fandango was potentially my first PC game that stayed in my all time favorites category. Tim Schaefer is great and I love seeing that he’s finally releasing another game with good production values. Hope Psychonauts does well enough that he gets back into high AA gaming again.

For people who missed the original Stanley Parable, it is worth checking out. Pretty mind blowing. (hard to describe without ruining it).

Far Cry looks interesting, but certainly fatigue could set in.

Kojima and Keighly made some tweets suggesting that Death Stranding was going to show up at The Game Awards.

Norman Reedus is on record saying "early 2019".

2021 lol.

Far Cry fatigue could set in? There's been 14 Far Cry games in the last 5 years. The dead horse is just a pile of gelatinous gew at this point.

I think Reedus is being coached by Kojima.

I guess it's possible. Doesn't feel like it to me though.

Not really sure why Kojima gets this wrap. All his MGS games came out in a timely manner save for The Phantom Pain, which obviously took longer because he was making the Fox Engine.

I think 2019 is certainly a possibility at this point.

You spend 30 minutes riding? That would get you from one side of the map to the other.

Consider me part of the problem lol, I’m a Far Cry junkie. Have loved every game except Primal, which was just good.

New Dawn is already preordered.

Rage 2's release date trailer was a highlight for me. New Ultimate Alliance announcement was unexpected, especially being a switch exclusive. The Outer Worlds has beaked my interest even if I'm not a big Fallout-like fan.

Dragon Age 4. A few years ago I would have been fan boying out. But given how Bioware has handled the last 2 Dragon Ages and the last Mass Effect, I might not even buy the next Dragon Age until its on sale or a GOTY bundle is available.
