The Home Theater Thread

Needed a new entertainment unit and could not find one anywhere for a decent price to fit all my stuff so decided to just build one.

Not terribly proud of the craftsmanship but am happy everything has a place now and looks half decent.

AVR is pioneer vsx lx-304, probably could've gone with a 7.2 channel amp but this was at a good price.

All audio is Polk audio, I know it's pretty low-mid range but selection here is terrible and expensive and Polk seemed to get decent reviews, and am over the moon with the results.

Hi guys, after living a decade of 40-inch 1080p and built-in TV speakers. I finally upgrade to to 65" 4K and "5.1" sound system.
(note: My Philips 40" did not break down, its a Philips so they don't break, I will give it away to a friend, who believe or not has a 32" TV)

TV is:

Hisense 65U71HQ ULED 164cm (65 Zoll) Fernseher, 4K ULED HDR Smart TV, Quantum Dot, 120Hz, HDMI 2.1, Game Mode, Dolby Vision IQ & Atmos, Bluetooth, Alexa Built-in, Google Assistant, Anthrazit [2022]

Yes it a Chinese brand, that before the WorldCup, I barely heard of (so advertising in world cup works I guess), it has 4.5stars with over 1k review, & the price blows Korean & Japanese brands out of the water for same spec.
It cost me only 880€ at Amazon

Sound system is:

Samsung HW-Q610B/ZG schwarz Soundbar mit Subwoofer (Bluetooth, True Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, HDMI, 3.1.2 Kanal)

It has 5 speakers (left middle, right, 2 top speakers) & a subwoofer
Cost me 349€ at Mediamarkt (electronic store), supposedly original price is 599€

A quick breakdown of the living room.
On the left is my figurine collection in Ikea glass display shelf, The Catwoman, Amazon (diablo 2), Lara Croft, & Captain Marvels are created by me, & commercially available as 3D print digital file at selected websites.

I have a PS4 which I barely use except for Netflix/prime/youtube, on my old TV. With the new TV having most popular video sites access build in, there is no need for my PS4 now. I am considering a proper next gen console now I have 4K TV. I am leaning towards XBOX series X as I already have gamepass on my PC; but lets see.
Below the PS4 on the TV shelf is the cable box that comes with my Internet box. I never paid extra for the channels.

The subwoofer is located below the small Ikea desk on the right.

Final Thoughts:
The 65incher and proper sound system is a game changer. SIzes matters! I enjoy my movies/Shows much more enjoyable.
Cost me a little over 1K and its no way premium )no fancy OLED and Full surround system), but I am loving it. Big upgrade from 40inch 1080p with TV speaker.

Is that the manga or anime box of demon slayer?

They are boxes for the figurines. The figurine can be bought solo, but when pair, you can have them hold hand. I like this, as it shows sibling love with the brother protecting his sister.

The kids toys will be cleaned up eventually. Theater 3.0, we just moved in like 2 months ago. Still have boxes everywhere.
