The Last of Us Part 2 - New Trailer Contains Spoilers

Digital version is on sale for $30 now.
Yup, and I plan on seeing if its as good as the first game. I know there are some story elements some didn't care for. But I'm more interested in the tense, fun and engaging game play I remember the first one for.

If it fails in that department then I'll be disappointed. But I looking forward to finding out for myself. :hehe:

Just platinum-ed the game. Don't think I'll be going through it to get the last 2 DLC trophies: beating it on grounded and permadeath setting.

I just started this game last night. Dayum, this is a very pretty game. I'm surprised it didn't melt the PS4.

I'm playing using the Sony Pulse Headphones and those Clickers are freaking me out. And I also get a bit squeamish when I hear that gargling sound after using a knife for stealth takedowns. It makes me squirm in my chair, lol.

I have one complaint this early on though. I don't like Elle's I guess you can call it rebellious attitude. She just seems angry and child like. I know she's young but I would have thought the experiences she's been through up to this point would have matured her more. In this case her anger is directed towards something that has not been shown, at least not yet. So her anger could be justified and I hope I get more context as the game unfolds.

This game reminds me of Red Redemption 2. Two totally different games but they share one thing in common. A high degree for details not found in most games. The story is proceeding slowly but I can tell its setting things up to be a rollercoaster of emotions. I kind of spoiled something major for myself when I went looking for reviews and impressions and I'm dreading seeing it play out when I get to it. I can't wait to jump back in after work.

Still one of the best looking console games out there even as a last gen title. It's all in the details.

Yeah, unfortunately all those details come at a cost. We only get one game per generation from Naughty Dog. A shame really but the wait for their games is always worth it.

We got The Last of Us Remastered at beginning of PS4 gen, Uncharted 4 mid gen and The Last of Us 2 end of gen.

Would I have liked more than what we got? Sure! But I would rather they take their time developing their games perfectly the way they want it.

Games are just taking longer and longer to develop these days.

Plus Lost Legacy. Pretty good output but I doubt they match it this gen.

I should have made it clear I was exaggerating.

They take their sweet time when it comes to releases much like Rockstar. But for ND it seems to work for them and Sony seems pleased with them as well because their games make lots of money.

They are generation defining IMO. One of the best in the business.

I've been playing this game for the last few days. It occurred to me that the gameplay is not very good. The shooting is imprecise and melee animations repeat over and over again that lessen their initial brutal impact. But what makes this game so good is the atmosphere the devs put the player in. I've explored abandoned buildings/camps and a subway system and each time I was on edge because of how tense its all set up to be. The music and more importantly the environmental sound do a lot of heavy lifting in this game. Dialog is another matter entirely. I'm starting to see why so many complained about it. The game's character interactions are not particularly well written. A lot of what's said is eye rolling to me.

MP game to be a "cinematic experience between players" 👀

Hopefully announce something about it on TLoU day 09.26 (ex Outbreak day).

Great video showing the intensity of survival and combat. Can't wait to see what ND does with the PS5 hardware.

In most places it looks great, in others not so much. The sudden transition to the backward slide on the ground is a bit jarring.

I see what you mean.

But is there a better backward slide on the ground then let you throw a molotov or shoot someone game out there now? 🤔
