The Last of Us Part 2 - New Trailer Contains Spoilers

Here’s the whole thread:

there’s one spoiler that’s yet to be mentioned that’s clearly in plain sight that no one has brought up yet but could be retconned for its rerelease on ps5...

The loading time is like over a minute long, hopefully it'll cut to at least half upon its ps5 HD remastering

Oh wow, I guess that article a few months ago about working conditions at ND was right on. A disgruntled employee just spoiled the entire game :surprise::txbmad::sad::sad::sad:

I accidentally clicked a link on another page and it basically ruined a big plot point, so use at your own discretion!

What a douche lol

Watched and read the spoilers. Given how unnessesary and uneven Uncharted 4 was, the last of us 2 spoilers don't surprise me at all.

I usually never read spoilers, but I had a weird feeling about this game. Reading them only cemented that. I'll pass.

Without spoiling anything, can you explain why? Someone on another forum said it seemed like fan fiction..?

Haven't read any spoilers either as I've been trying to preserve my interest in the game. I'd like to hear a generic breakdown too.

I've been hearing they went SJW all over it( the fan fiction comparison pops up a lot with SJW writers too), so I'm worried. I may just wait for reviews now, tbh. All the talk of poor work environment and people leaving doesn't help.

Alot of the twists and turns seem unnecessary. Plus the ending is going to be VERY divisive. Gameplay is fine but
it pulls a Halo 2 type switch on you if you get my drift.

I feel like they totally s*** all over the franchise from watching/reading the spoilers.....

The Last Jedi type of s***ting on a franchise.

There seems to be a lot of this in the comments:

Well we both know that person issues probably aren't really related to the game but regardless I don't think we should post people's takes on the spoilers without putting them under spoiler tags.

I already got unintentionally spoilered elsewhere so I am not too concerned about it myself but if I hadn't I wouldn't be thrilled with reading some of the posts in this thread

I'll be honest. I am one of the few people that believed that the Last of us did not need a sequel, just as Uncharted 3 didn't need 4. It told its story in such a way that no more needed to be said.
With all that said, I was on the fence with the sequel but I will try it at some point. Their narrative moves from the spoilers confuse me, so I might have to play it to get a full appreciation of it. I know that there is more than likely going to be a remastered version for the ps5, so I can wait until then.

I'm more bummed that Ghost of Tshuimia got bumped to July.

If someone thought this was going to teach ND a lesson they just F'd up, this gives them a built in excuse if the game doesn't meet expectations. If this was someone who worked there they could have potentially screwed themselves (if they aren't found out) and their co-workers out of bonuses among other things.

Lecture? I haven't read the spoilers and I'm doing my best to avoid them but Ellie is gay so if she has a love interest it's going to be a girl lol. If during their travel convos she starts spouting stats about gay teen suicide rates I'll get mad too but if it's just about Ellie having a girlfriend this person needs to get over it.

Man that probably should have had a tag.

Well, that happened in the first one if that's what you mean
Going from playing as Joel to playing as Ellie, aka Arbiter? Divisive ending could be a lot of things

I don't know the spoilers either, but I've definitely heard rumblings of heavy SJW-ness. I don't think being gay in and of itself qualifies as SJW. I'm sure most people expected that since e3. This may be different. I really wanted to play this, but if it's gonna be preachy I'm out. I've got to find out more info without spoiling it for myself if it's just some garbage overreaction.

I am worried as hell now though...

I only read one spoiler accidentally, but from the comments it sounds like the ‘SJW’ type of criticism from people..? Like the game is lecturing to the player about social issues, etc. Kind of like the current backlash against celebrity culture.

I like most Kevin Smith movies, and I always loved Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. I saw the new Reboot movie recently, and it sucked. It’s ultra-PC, and a total letdown. It’s nothing like the first one. KS has gone too soft.

The complaints about the game sound similar, although no one complaining has actually played it. I’m just happy it’s still releasing relatively soon.

Yeah I don't want anything overly preachy either, I just hope people aren't thinking of inclusion as preaching. That being said I could totally see Druckmann putting out some heavy handed preachy game, following his twitter account during the height of "me too" he did come across as one of those "white knight" kind of guys. I want to give him the benefit of the doubt though because he's also done some great storytelling in games in the past.

There is a trans actor in the trailer below (female to male) I'm guessing the character is too and that's fine but I hope they don't go out of their way to talk too much about the person's gender identity, inclusion again is totally fine IMO but beating people over the head with it defeats the purpose and is counter productive. Ellie being gay means if she has a love interest it'll mean gay love scenes and that's fine too, they just shouldn't go out of their way to put extra love scenes in that they wouldn't have if Ellie had been straight.

or unnecessary scenes/moments like in one of the recent Star Trek films where the girl was just in her undies for no affect or reason besides just showing her off

Ah ok, this is a minor spoiler but if you want to know what the SJW uproar is about, apparently

The villains are homophobic Christians.

That's not SJW though often times that's real life lol.
Given that the cult is made up of people that are all immune and therefore feel chosen by god it makes sense.
