The Last of Us Part 2 - New Trailer Contains Spoilers

They didn't though because Uncharted 4 was having problems and everyone moved to that.

Doesn't matter, if they started work on it, that's when the clock starts ticking. That's their problem. Never the less it's been 7 years since we had a TLOU, the gap between UC3 and UC4 wasn't that long and they even had shifted to a new console. (yes I know that TLOU remastered was their first PS4 game, but that UC was shifting from PS3 to PS4 at the time)

EDIT: Take this with a grain of salt but a Wiki page shows TLOU2 started development in 2014.

At the end of the day no matter how long it takes, I expect nothing but excellence from Naughty Dog. Since they had to delay the game a couple of times, I trust their judgement.

It doesn't matter how many people they had working on it, if they were working on it, they were working on it.

The director wasn't even working on it, he took over UC4 when they rebooted it, they had nowhere near 7 years and saying that is just wrong. I agree I expect it to be very good but your line about 7 years is totally wrong and saying development started doesn't mean any real work was done that's when things like testing systems, coming up with the story etc happen and that was before the creative minds behind it had to move over to UC4 so any real work was likely stopped for a couple of years to get UC4 done and out the door.

UC4 was done in 2 years after Amy Hennig was let go so they did finish that game quickly compared to most modern AAA titles. Not only that but it still took nearly 5 years between UC3 and UC4 because they made the TOLU. Yes it has been 7 years between the first game and the second but it's not like that's all they worked on and framing it that way is very misleading.

i don’t know where I’m getting this but it sounds like you’re not one who’s interested in foreplay...

Doesn't surprise me at all, given the Covid-19 situation around the world. I keep saying that if the situation does not improve by the time summer comes around we could be looking at alot of big game delays ( Cyberpunk any one) and potentially next gen console delays.

Wouldn't surprise me if Sony pushes Last of Us 2 into a launch PS5 game. Would be a hell of a launch title.

How many times will they delay it?
I wasn't getting it anyway without multiplayer and knowing how they are handling PS4-PS5.

The circumstances for this one are more than understandable, you can't release this game in only parts of the world or spoilers would be all over youtube on day one which would impact sales in other parts of the world.

Still think they should release it digitally. What better way than to help ease some of the rabid cabin fever we'll all have by then. No physical sucks, but I bet people would still see it released.

Short gameplay clips. I didn’t watch them so not sure if spoilers. I think it’s older footage..?

If ya want a refund, for the digital version:

I don't know. If you're just going to move the release date back 1 month, wouldn't make sense to cancel all those pre-orders.

Oh wow, I guess that article a few months ago about working conditions at ND was right on. A disgruntled employee just spoiled the entire game :surprise::txbmad::sad::sad::sad:

I accidentally clicked a link on another page and it basically ruined a big plot point, so use at your own discretion!
