The Last Of Us Series Clicks It’s Way To HBO Max - Season 2 Delayed Cos Pedro Pascal In High Demand

Great overall. I could have used a little more action. It is almost like they were trying to keep the costs down or something. Otherwise great. Part of the human story is how they have to fight through infected to get anywhere.

Honestly at the start I was expecting Halo levels of bad. So glad that they nailed it overall.

Show is a huge hit

“The Last of Us” closed its first season with yet another triumph. With an audience of 8.2 million people for Episode 9, the series broke its own viewership record — a significant feat, considering that the finale was released during ABC’s telecast of the Oscars.

A combination of Nielsen data and first-party data from Warner Bros. Discovery, this number accounts for those who tuned into the Sunday night airing on HBO’s cable channel as well as streams on HBO Max through the night. WBD also shared that the first six episodes of the series are now averaging 30.4 million viewers, with Episode 1 approaching 40 million. In Europe and Latin America, “The Last of Us” is the most watched show on HBO Max ever.

Great job all around, best game to tv/film adaption to date IMO. I've read people on other forums complaining about the last two episodes being short while Bill's episode was over an hour. They don't seem to realize that's not how tv production works.

I thought that scene was completely unnecessary and the explanation was extremely lame, to be honest. Seemed to exist solely let the voice actor from the games make a cameo in the show. Despite her looking familiar, I honestly didn't even realize it was her until watching the the lame "after credits" self-congratulatory behind the scenes nonsense.

The show was fine I guess, lost a lot of steam for me in the last half of the season. Seemed like a perfect example of why video game stories really aren't anything unique or special in the general context of other story telling mediums.

Eh it's an explanation for why she's immune. They don't really ever go over that in the game, and I had no problems with the way they did it.

More importantly than being Ellie's VA, she played Chrissy Seaver in the mega hit "Growing Pains"

It was clearly about linking Marlene to her mother and establishing why it wouldn't be an easy decision for her to make.

On that note I think the Marlene actress was the only casting mistake they made.

…. Really. I thought that was one I really appreciated, partly because it’s the same actress who played her in the game.

Sort of agree. I always thought this was peak fiction and would make an absolutely incredible TV show. Like I said before, it was… fine? Pretty solid? Maybe I overrated the story that was told in the game?

Or perhaps being so familiar with the story really lessened the impact. That is likely.

They appears to have had so much work done on her face and that it can no longer move so she can't show any emotion.

I recognized her from her gruntings lol. "Yep, that's Ellie".

Great season really enjoyed it, was hoping for a bit more action but what was there was great.

Best live action adaption (Arcane still the best).
