Official Thread The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild (Wii U/Switch)

I've watched videos of Master Mode and it just looks way too difficult. Enemies on the plateau take like 20 hits to take down and they can kill you in two. It was like on Normal and running straight to Hyrule Castle with 3 hearts and a tree branch. f*** that.
I haven't tried myself - still playing my primary file, but people have said the game gets very doable once you leave the Great Plateau.

Does this game require the previous games? Figured this was in a different universe or whatever like some of the other games are. I have a few of the older games on Wii U and 3DS but haven't played all of them yet. Wondering if I should still play those or just jump into this. No idea when I would get to the other games so in the interest of time that's why I'm thinking of just skipping to this.

I may just play it then and skip the others for now. The only Zelda I've beaten completely is Link to the Past. I played quite a bit of the first game but really didn't age well compared to Link to the Past. I had the original on NES but don't think I ever beat it. Only other Zelda I've played is maybe 10 hours of Twilight Princess and 15 or so of Wind Waker HD.

Been playing this lately, trying to upload pic of my success but can't find where to do this except if am URL... anyway, I'm at 25 hearts, 3 full stamina circles (think you can't get more?), 112 shrines completed and 117 of the seed things. Also done all of the big animal machines. A bit unsure how hard Ganon is, but having a hard time seeing not being able to beat him.

Playing again on Switch now that i've made the jump and wishing i had just waited instead of getting it for Wii U. Still an amazing experience though the second time through.

Still haven't found my physical copy of this... Would buy it again digitally but Nintendo being Nintendo means it'll be close to full price forever.

Did they ever fix the slowdowns this game had in some areas on the Switch. I saw reviews when it came out showing some pretty bad framerate issues at times. I'm considering getting a Switch and this game, but not sure.

There's a few moments of fps drop, most notably in a forest we all know and love. Don't let it be the reason why you don't buy it. Incredible game

As said, it's very noticeable in a small wooden area that you don't need to spend much time in except for giving some collectibles at times.
Except that, game runs and looks great, best experience I've had on switch... Maybe even best experience period last gen.
Amazing, amazing game and an example of the Nintendo magic at it's best.

Buying a switch just to play Zelda is imo a no brainer if you like videogames even just a little.

Game looks beautiful and runs fine in docked and handheld. It’s huge so be ready to put a ton of hours into it. I still haven’t finished the game. I’d say pull the trigger on the Switch.

Thanks for the replies. I'm not getting one for myself. I was either going to get BOTW and a Switch, or the XSS and Game Pass for someone as a gift. I may play around with it (if I get it) but I've been too busy with other stuff and PC gaming lately.
