With Jon Favreau attached I have high hope for this. I was surprised how good the Jungle Book movie he did turned out when I finally got around to seeing it.

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy took to the stage to confirm several new details about what fans can expect of new Star Warscontent on the platform. First, Alan Tudyk, who played the sarcastic re-programmed Imperial security droid K-2SO in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will reprise his role in the previously unveiled but still untitled Cassian Andor show, starring Diego Luna. No further details were revealed beyond the fact it is a “thrilling spy series in the Star Warsuniverse,” which is unsurprising, given that Cassian and K2 are, well...Rebel spies.

Kennedy also confirmed that beyond The Mandalorian and the Cassian show, there are more Star Wars shows currently in development, both live action and animated—the latter of which includes the upcoming new season of the beloved Star Wars: The Clone Wars, announced back at San Diego Comic-Con last year as bringing a full conclusion to the show’s saga out of previously unfinished storylines, following its cancelation when Disney purchased Lucasfilm in 2014. Beyond new Star Wars stories, Kennedy also confirmed a new, untitled behind-the-scenes documentary series that will put the spotlight on the craftsmen and designers who help bring the Star Wars movies to life.

We had a long talk with each other. One thing he said to me was, ‘Remember, Jon, the real audience for all stories and all myths is the kids that are coming of age,’ because he’s really a Joseph Campbell adherent.

We enjoy the stories as adults, but really, storytelling is about imparting the wisdom of the previous generations on to the children who are becoming adults, and giving them a context for how to behave and how to learn the lessons of the past without making the mistakes on their own. That’s the hope, that you can teach them how to avoid all the hardship but garner all the wisdom.

Looks better than i hoped. as much as i enjoy light saber duels its good for the franchise to do some stuff without them and tell different types of stories.

That trailer is so bad ass. I love that they have for a Rouge One style direction with the presentation. I wonder if they are going to go all Judge Dredd with the main character and leave the helmet on, maybe tying the character reveal into the story.

So is this like netflix where you get it all day 1, or is it a weekly thing.

First episode was a bit uneven IMO, didn't care for the bounty character at the beginning at all, he was too human IMO, also didn't care for the creatures they were riding, they just looked really fake and the movement on them was really jerky and unnatural. The main character looks really cool but when he talks he doesn't sound intimidating at all. I really did like the last probably 10-15 minutes though, they need more of that kind of thing throughout the whole show. I also wish the show would actually be an hour, 40 minutes for a premiere episode is kind of short.
