The Mandalorian: A Star Wars Series - UPDATE Season 4 Confirmed

The replies to her are freaking great, now she's playing the victim of course and saying people are trying to silence her because she made a small mistake. Nobody forced that idiot to comment at all lol. I saw one guy not react negatively to her in the probably two dozen replies I read, of course he was telling another guy not to call women females, I was going to reply to him but he had his pronouns in his bio so I didn't think there was really any reason to bother lol.

She is trash. Literal garbage. The first Episode had a female in it.

A lot of liberals can't stand people like her and I'm one of them :) she's an outrage culture vulture feeding off of any bit of overblown online BS she can. I don't think she believes most of what she says, she's just trying to start something to make a quick buck.

I mean, it's only 3 episodes in? Wouldn't it have been better women's news to bragg that the most excellent 3rd episode was the first ever female Star Wars director?https://www.menshealth.com/entertai...-mandalorian-star-wars-first-female-director/

Also, this woman has been in all the promotional material, but has yet to show up yet.

Hell the main character hardly has any lines lol. I do wish this show were longer, 30-40 minutes doesn't give them a lot of time to tell a story.

Episode length fine to me.

Can’t please everyone, some people gotta find something to complain about.

The length works. We are used to longer episodes but shows on networks and cable are a set length because they have to be. Streaming shows should really be as long or as short as they need to be to tell whatever story.

Disney may have wanted them short because of the money being spent but they don't feel rushed.

I feel like for the story they’re trying to tell and how it’s playing out the length is fine. If they’re are leaving people wanting even more that’s a good thing.

you go to hour episodes then people start complaining about slow spots and filler.

Was thinking while watching this last night they could have done a Star Wars Anthology series. Each season is about a different type of character in a different part of the galaxy during any part of the timeline. That would be cool.

She’s wrong. The Maldorian armorer is female. And speaks. She’s also missing the point that there is probably less than 5 minutes of dialogue in total in the first episode. Basically another SJW finding a problem where none exists.

Not to mention most of the dialog is from someone not human at all. For all we know, the blue thing could be female. :)

But she isn't naked and taking it from all the Mandos. So Anita wont notice her.

Infact, i bet that is her next tweet. "Mandos is so sexist."

Not complaining. The episodes just seem to be getting shorter. The last one was only like 30 minutes. That is short.

I just watched episode 2 and it said 28 minutes. Great episode!

You only saw her helmet and torso. She has no pants on. I know it. You know it. We all know it. And she wants us to know it to!! :hehe:

In regards to women, the books have been much better about that in recent years. Not to say the mandalorian is doing "worse" though. I'm sure we'll see a fair amount of representation once other characters are introduced.

a friend of mine is real down on the portrayal of their culture, having preferred what was shown in the karen traviss novels, which had many details soon retconned by the clone wars cartoon.

Gonna nerd out cuz I have time to kill. None of this is all too related to the show though. So here's some light backstory as it goes in the current canon. The mandalorians had a planet to themselves, Mandalore, shown off in the clone wars cartoon but introduced very long before. After the fall of the republic, there was great pressure from the empire for the mandalorians to cooperate or suffer the natural imperial consequences. By about the time of A New Hope, several houses (they have clans and such) joined up with the empire, most pragmatically, but some refused and scattered or were absorbed/wiped out. It has not been told of yet, but somewhere between the rebels cartoon and The Mandalorian, their society and homeworld appears to have suffered greatly. Through dialogue in Mandalorian's episode 3, it was likely a result of the empire very harshly stamping out resistance. As of now, with this story taking place 5 years after Return of The Jedi, the situation is back in line with how mandalorians were portrayed in nearly every other canon source besides the old books/comics in that kind of ghetto between 2004 and 2012. (I'm not very fond of the mandalorian portrayals in that time)

Now on a tangent, used to be boba fett was the only definite mandalorian running around. As of the new canon, certain fans seem to consider him kind of pretender because, in the clone wars cartoon, Jango is denounced as non-mandalorian, some criminal who found the armor, so boba doesn't have the claim either. But he is named this by a corrupt government official who said and did anything to win support and keep ahead of others.

People often cite this as definitive proof that jango is not mandalorian (Semi-true, as he comes from their colony, Concord Dawn, which is also where the NZ accent is supposed to come from) and since boba is a clone, neither is he. This is the thing about star wars fans, where analysis of every line of dialogue and exposition, every background prop or character, is taken too far and too literally. (I mean yeah I go crazy, but I see room for interpretation where things are unclear) I think his status within the society was shaky, but I believe jango was mandalorian by association at the least, which is how their martial culture has always seemed to work and as it seems to work now (with talk of foundlings in the show, likely being their term for adopted children).

If this spout of nonsense tells you anything, it's that star wars canon is a mess and it's quite fun for us to see unfold.

No mindblowing reveals, but another solid episode. I've heard some call this episode, "filler," but I like the pacing. Seeing smaller vignettes of the universe through Mando's eyes has been wonderful to walk through.

Im sure a character or two will cross paths with the mando in a later episode... season two is already in the works, I’m to lazy to find the link atm 😝

Kind of funny that some people were complaining about last night's episode being "woke" just because there was a woman in it. It's one thing to do what Kennedy and her chosen ones have done with the movies but having a female character help out in an episode is hardly turning the show into feminist propaganda.

Those complainers are professional complainers who do it for attention. They don't actually dislike it.

It is the clickbait culture. Nobody puts out an article or video about how great something is. It is always "20 reasons that something sucks" or "30 things they got wrong".

If you see a lot of this stuff on Youtube, you can select "not interested" and eventually you can get more of the salty nonsense off your feed.

I don’t want to continue said conversation, but if any Star Wars fan has watched any of the spin off series like Rebels they’re some really contradictory stuff there with lead and supporting characters, especially when compare to the Mandalorian

I think I know what you're talking about. Considering that the head writer and show runner from Clone Wars and Rebels is also a co-writer and director on this show, I think that they will explain why times are different now.
