The Mandalorian: A Star Wars Series - UPDATE Season 4 Confirmed

She was a great athlete, probably the first big star in women's MMA. I always thought it was strange they didn't try to utilize her real life martial arts skills more in the show. Haywire was a relatively underrated movie, but that probably had a bit more to do with Soderbergh. I thought she was fine in the first season, but felt pretty wooden in season two.

The character needed to be overhauled regardless. For a character who was supposed to have been a top of the line elite special forces soldier, the portrayal always seemed odd. She pretty much would just stand in one place out in the open with a big gun. Periodically they'd forget they'd portrayed her as a heavy gunner, and suddenly we were supposed to believe she was a sniper too. I guess in Star Wars, everyone can do everything and success is all based on magic and luck, even for random soldiers.

I wouldn't mind them replacing her with someone like Michelle Rodriguez rather than just erasing the character completely.

She was pretty decent at promos and such in WWE, but yeah I'll admit her spots in Entourage and Fast 6(?) weren't great lol
Yeah, she was lined up to be in multiple movies at that point, they all immediately died after studios saw the Fast and the Furious and Entourage performances.

There isn't much to the character so I think just replacing her with someone new would be the better move.

Or just give more time to Bill Burr or Ming-Na Wen

She'll probably issue an apology then get re-hired. Disney be like that.
No she is done for sure. If this was Gal Gadot then yeah but Gina Carano just isn't going to be valuable enough for them to do that. They brought back James Gunn but the situation was different and he shouldn't have been fired in the first place.

Plus I doubt she does apologize.

One thing to consider, she's someone who literally got punched in the head for a living for years. Considering the beating she took from Cyborg alone, the chance that she has some form of CTE or traumatic brain injury is pretty high. Impulsive illogical behavior and incoherent thoughts and arguments are a pretty common long term effect of traumatic brain injuries. The things she said are certainly idiotic and deserving of the repercussions, but labeling her as some evil person might be a bit unfair in the circumstances.

She's literally been saying the exact same thing as other Q-anon believers, for the past 2 years (at least). Are they all just brain injury victims? Not saying there's nothing wrong with how their brains work, but I'm not going to say that this gives anyone an excuse, either. Gina's on-again, off-again boyfriend also allegedly believes all this same nonsense she spouts. Of course, he's also an ex-MMA fighter, so there's that.

James Gunn shouldn't have been fired? Please explain.

James Gunn made jokes 10 years ago and had apologized for them years ago even before getting hired by Disney. Disney knew about it before they hired him in the first place so that alone meant it made no sense to fire him. Disney would obviously have no reason to fear him repeating the behavior either.

They got played by people who tried to create the outrage not because they were outraged by those tweets but by ones of him being critical of Donald Trump. Which is why he was rehired and the cast jumped to his defense in a way you certainly will not see here.

On the other hand Gina Carano would have known she was in hot water for months and instead doubled and tripled down in response

That and she tried to hide her comments/post by deleting them, almost same day....so she was/is aware of what she’s saying and doing before and after said actions

Oh I see. It's the political side she's on. Gotcha. smh

Are you saying I am saying that? Because its not.

Obviously many will make her the victim and claim she was fired for being conservative or supporting Trump but that isn't why she was fired.

And again Disney knew about the tweets James Gunn made and hired him anyway. They didn't happen right before he was fired. He also never made himself the victim or excuse what he did.

Lol disney
Hollywood is so far removed from reality that they probably don't even recognize that there's a world outside of twitter and social media.
Gina is most definitely a basket case, but I'm having a really hard time with this cancel culture that just seems to level up each day.
It's becoming a witch hunt and I'm afraid the pendulum will hit back hard in a few years as it usually does when it swings high enough to one side.

When you're on the side of people storming the Capitol with shirts suggesting six million was not enough and you compare people not loving what you have to say with how the Jewish people were treated then your "political side" is an asspimple.

I mean, don't air out your anti-semitism and bigotry to the world and you won't get "cancelled."

It's not hard. Don't be a piece of s*** in public.

She made a dumb analogy, same dumb analogy I’ve seen the other side of the political spectrum make numerous times. Definitely silly, but not worth firing on its own.

Sounds like this was just the final straw, and has been building up. In that case so be it. I honestly didn’t know she was a Qanon cultist. Those people are whack jobs. If that’s true hard to have any sympathy.

Just finished Season 2 by the way. DAMN! Way bettee than season 1.

From my understanding she compared “being Jewish, during the Holocaust, to being a conservative or republican”

She also pushed on people’s religious, political views, flat earth, antivaxer and just made fun of minority groups...I don’t know if she ever apologized for anything or even tried to come to an understanding of the other side

Anti semitism (which I don't believe it was tbh) yes, bigotry.... Should you really lose your job for that? Does that sound right, when you look at it without being in affect?

That's not anti semitism though, that's just a r******d analogy.

She shouldn't apologize for any of it imo, that's her view of that world, it's called freedom of speech (as long as it isn't hate speech).

Do I share her beliefs? Lol, no, she's f***ed in the head. But she's an actor (-ish, lol), why would that matter enough to fire her.

Also, want Disney an anti semist?

There may be many reasons why it matters; representation of oneself, the companies she works with/for, communities, and money. Overall she works for Disney, if this hurts their image, then it hurts their money/investment and those who help create it.

Basically if she’s what you say she is then that is what the people/companies are as well, but only now doing the “right thing”.
