The Notorious B.I.G Tribute Thread.

I saw the Notorious movie about him not too long ago. It was pretty solid overal, not sure of how accurate it was, but a good watch overall.
I really liked the film. I was prepared to be hyper critical of it and ended up walking out feeling they captured his life perfectly. They didn't gloss over really anything. The only real fallacy is the Who Shot Ya scene. It didn't happen like that. That actually happened in the UK, not LA. I believe he did sing it in LA, but the look of it is from a UK performance. Even that is minor.

Good to hear. The movie cam off pretty genuine, and I didn't see it when it was released in theaters because I too was skeptical of it. I hear they're making a Tupac movie now as well.

I really need to go back and listen to his music again sometime, it's been a while. Anyone ever seen Notorious? Not sure if it was accurate or not, but I thought it was a great biopic film.

Yes. Seen it countless times. As someone who would be very critical of a film about him, I thought it was great. They did a great job with it.

Here is Robert Ebert’s review of it. https://www.rogerebert.com/reviews/notorious-2009

Just finished watching Unsolved: The murders of Tupac and The Notorious BIG on Netflix. Based on the BIG and Tupac investigation. Probably the best show about the two I've ever seen. It's 10 episodes.

I can't imagine the amazing tracks we've missed since he died so young. He would be appalled by what the "hip hop" industry has become. He was always paranoid about someone coming after him. In the end, it turned out to be true.

Do any of the more recent artists diss each other in their music now like they did back then? It's no wonder so many artists died back then, they were constantly talking bad about one another in their music. I pretty much stopped keeping up with that music back in the late 90's. I'll download a song here and there, but most music now I can't even stand at all.

I'm looking for the meme, but I can't find it. It was something like, "Tupac had beef with Biggie because he thinks he had him shot. Drake has beef with Meek Mill because he didn't like one of his Instagram posts," or something like that.

The "diss" records now are almost always garbage.

It sure doesn't seem that long ago. One of my friends from back in the day was obsessed with his music. I'll never forget sitting at a stoplight and pointing out there was a Lexus LX 450 right in front of us and he didn't understand what it was until I put it into lyrical form.

He started blowing the horn and began following them trying to get them to pull over to check out their vehicle just because it was mentioned in a song.

I didn't realize he was only 25. I haven't even bought a CD since 97. I lost interest in much of music back then.

I still believe it was Suge Knight and the 2 corrupted LAPD officers and that Nation of Islam dude related to one of the officers.

What a f***ing disaster. This was terrible. No clue “meta” was attempting this. Also, now know why Snoop took all Deathrow records off Spotify.
