I finally decided it was time to move on from my 2013 Elantra GT, and stepped up to a 2020 Mazda 6 Grand Touring. So far, it's...

Congrats….it’s got a turbo, no?
Yep. I've been driving so ridiculously little since COVID that I feel like I want to take an unnecessary road trip now. I've been looking at flights to Indy for the 500 this year (I bought my 11 year old and I tickets for the race and have the airbnb booked already) and now I'm like "Well, if we drive to Miami we can fly non-stop".

Not trying to hurt your feelings, but you didn't post a picture, so at this point, nobody gives a f***. It's like saying you saw this really awesome picture of a hot babe on the internet, and then you don't post a picture of said hot babe.

You are better than this.

I got my car ceramic coated about a month ago.

I have to say, I love how easy it is to clean and make it look glossy. Yesterday I literally just sprayed it down and dried and it looks like I just got it waxed.

Only issue I have had is that it makes every imperfection stick out (s***ty Honda paint) haha. I found some chipped paint on my hood that I never have seen before and a weird part where it looks like the clear coat was s*** out of the factory.

No, I'm really not better than this.

GREAT color too. Mazda's are looking SO NICE these days. If you are trying to keep with the Jones', you blew them away. Your competition is an Xterra, Ford Focus, Ford Focus again, Honda CRV and a minivan it seems. NICE WORK!

This year I might replace my 2021 Jeep Cherokee with a 2023 Mazda CX-50. They start making them around the summer time. It's a new model.

I have three kids so I can only buy larger SUVs. I went out casually browsing for a used car and a 2021 used Tahoe was $80K locally.

Listen, I'm sure it had a great CarFax report, very low mileage, very nice inside, but it's a f*cking Tahoe, it's still used, and you want $80K? What the hell is going on?

Used car market is stupidly high right now.

I could trade in my Honda Accord for the same amount I paid for it last March right now.

Our 2017 Jeep Wrangler Sahara we bought back in 2017 new for $35,000. It now has 24,000 miles on it and is 5 years old. Our dealer called us like 2 weeks ago, and said they would give us $32K. WTF?

So I looked at the idea of accepting their offer, and replacing it with a 2022 4 door Sahara Wrangler. They want $63,000 for those.

No thanks.

Ya, the vehicles that are in high demand right now are getting insane dealer markups.

A ford dealer here where I live marked up a new Bronco like $45K lol. MSRP is $58K and the dealer is charging $106,000.00

I have seen stickers from dealerships marking up a Rav4 Prime like $40K also haha.

I was for a few years. Now I'm in college trying to get a better job. Trucking was an interesting experience though. I went as far as the Texas/Mexico border, Nova Scotia, Florida, Iowa, and all the Eastern States in between.
Wait, I thought you finished college (was it It?) and then went into trucki to pay it off? You going into radiology?

Short version:

I followed the hype for Cyber Security and got as far as a 2 year Associates. I didn't get a 4 year degree because dumb life reasons. Cyber Security is not a practical education path for a beginner in tech though so I feel like I wasted my time. I should have gone for Web Developer and got strong coding skills instead.

I will also say the curriculum was awful. They barely taught practical coding for freakin Cyber Security.

Hopefully sooner than later because I don't think my car is going to last much longer.

What do ya got, and weft are you looking for?
Have an 08 Scion tC with about $230k miles on it. Still a decent car overall, low maintenance, etc. Unfortunately, this model had an issue with the piston rings causing it to burn oil. Had it tested a long time ago but they wouldn't cover it, saying it wasn't bad enough. Over time it has gotten worse and worse. Had an oil change like 500 miles ago and already have to start adding it.

I'd like to stay with a manual, but options are limited. The thing I like about the Scion is I can fit my bike in the back and keep it there all summer. Skis fit as well. Right now thinking the new Honda Civic Hatchback is the best bet. Plus to that car is that unlike my Scion it has factory option for roof rack so I can put a kayak or SUP on there.
