The Official: Automotive enthusiast thread

I'm too redneck for something like that.

dude, your cars look hella clean... Just buy a couple rattle cans of plastidip and make it look pátina...so it looks aged on the outside but you secretly know that it’s clean underneath and if ya decide to sell it just peel that stuff off :)

trust me, there’s red necks in socal with some really nice cars...most of them wranglers, challengers or camaros.

You don't even know what a real redneck is where you live. We have real rednecks here. I bet they're just wannabes out there.

I'm only into sport trucks, even though they aren't useful at all for what I need or for where I live.

your right, I don’t, but I don’t judge, I’m sure there’s a spectrum of red necks. I only go by what other people that designate themselves that, one I know straight up looks like joe dirt....hey that bronco has a seven speed manual with a turbo four, or you could wait for the raptor version which I think will be called the “warthog”. Honestly if I bought one it’s be the seven speed and I’d slam it, wel lower it enough to still be able to go over speed bumps without having to go over at an angle. I love the boxy look...and the engine is the same outta a mustang so I’m sure there’ll be plenty of tunes/mods

I was joking about the wannabe rednecks out there. I'm sure you have plenty of true rednecks.

I don't really like the look of it much, but I'd drive it if was given to me. I don't like the look of many vehicles these days actually. I just want my next vehicle to be as cheap and reliable as possible.

No worries

may wanna ask Videodrome how his RAV4 is holding up... one cheap small truck that has tons of years behind it is the current gen Nissan Frontier. Gets relatively good gas mileage, can take a beating, pretty fun to drive as a four banger or v6 (kinda feels like a lifted muscle car) and you could get it with an off-road package. My major cons with it are the horrendous turning radius and lack of CarPlay or Android Auto sucks. But you can get it with a sunroof and it’s an honest work truck.

I do like the looks of those Frontiers. They aren't too expensive, but are still a bit higher than I want to spend.

Yea AWD. I didn’t want the 4 cyl turbo. I went with the V6.

for a second there I was thinking compass, that four pot is the worst 😆 but yeah, glad ya got that, they’re really nice, surprising turning radius and those v6s are fun ;) Oh you get the pano roof?

Got a subscription to WRC+ this weekend for the finale. Outside of random clips in YouTube and loving rally games I've never watched an actual rally, probably because it's not big in the US and nowhere to watch it easily without paying. That said it was a blast and definitely a fan now. Gutted for Evans though. Was really hoping for him to win the title.

Also as for personal vehicles still driving the 08 Scion. Currently at about 210k miles and still thinking of a new car. May have paid off as Toyota is supposed to bring a Corolla hot hatch next year. I like what I see with the new GR Yaris but that isn't coming to the US. Guessing Corolla will be similar specs so definitely holding out for that.

Kia K5 GT here in the States are finally up for sale. Has the new 2.5T with a 8 speed wet dual clutch.

Seems like that 2.5T is going to be a popular engine between Kia and Hyundai.

Isn’t there an n-line coming out as well, for the k5?
n-line is Hyundai and yes.

There is a n-line Hyundai Sonota coming next year.

There is also a Hyundai Eleantra N next year.

Weird naming convention that is confusing.

I believe the "N" series is more sporty than the N-line series.

Yeah, I coulda swore on one particular car it was just an appearance package... but for certain ones like those you mentioned it’s gonna be like the mid/mild/entry to their full on sport “N” series
