Tesla Inc. cars have been banned from Chinese military complexes and housing compounds because of concerns about sensitive data being collected by cameras built into the vehicles.

The order, issued by the military, advises Tesla owners to park their cars outside of military property, according to people familiar with the directive who asked not to be identified because the information is private. The ban, relayed to residents of military housing this week, was triggered by concerns that the world’s biggest maker of electric vehicles is collecting sensitive data via the cars’ in-built cameras in a way the Chinese government can’t see or control, one of the people said.

Images of what was purported to be a notice about the ban were also circulating on Chinese social media. Multi-direction cameras and ultrasonic sensors in Tesla cars may “expose locations” and the vehicles are being barred from military residences to ensure the safety of confidential military information, the notice said.

Going to go test drive cars this weekend.

Split between:

2021 Toyota Camry XSE V-6
2021 Kia K5 GT

Wild card:

Try the trd Camry if ya can, enjoy the drives

ZombiesRUCrazy id recommend the trd because it’s the cheapest entry into getting a v6 (same as an xse with nicer exhaust) with very good power.

You’ll be missing out on two major, IMO, features. 1 a panoramic sunroof and 2 rear seat pass through, if you ever need that space for say a large tv or some six foot lumber stick to the xse i4 or v6.

the sport is a nice car, there’s some aftermarket tunes that are covered under warranty if ya need the boost. I like the suspension on that one more than the xse but not by much.

haven’t tried the k5 yet, sorry

The Bavarian is sharp, love the colour lighting if ya get it, wireless Apple CarPlay. Love the seating. You can hear the turbos spool, so sweet. It’s definitely a lease car

Swede is thing typical?

Round-abouts are already weird enough.

Never heard of it until now, had to do the Google.
It's in a medium sized city in Sweden and apparently controversial in the sense that it caused confusion lol
What's even funnier is that they wanted it painted red to make it less confusing but the red color made the asphalt slippery and caused danger, so they scraped it off and blamed the entrepreneur for it, but the entrepreneur claimed they only did what was ordered. Flash forward and the same entrepreneur won the procurement of painting it red... Again lol

I tried the xse v6 and accord sport. They did not have a TRD on the lot.

I enjoyed the sport more. I think I am going with that. May not have all the features as the Camry, but it felt fun to drive.

Decided to skip the Kia GT. I had a really bad experience previously with getting a first generation car after a refresh haha.

Nice, what colour?

the Kia isn’t a first gen, just a new name or technically reverting to its original name, KDM yo.

I know the K5 is the original Korean name for the Optima here in the states.

The 2.5L turbo with a wet dual clutch 8 speed on the other hand is completely new.

That's what worries me.
