The Outer Worlds - Spacers Choice Edition Coming March 7th

That's not what I see when I look at those photos. PS4 shots are noticeably softer everywhere. Also, Xbox has less grass. Look at the plant in the sky. Xbox has more detail pretty much everywhere.
Did you see this is VG Tech? They are not known for their good comparisons. They never match up with Digital Foundry.

It's running at a higher res so it should look sharper, I am just surprised they have more grass etc on screen on the Pro.

I don't get it? Except for the lack of grass it looks noticeably better on the X, not by much but definitely sharper.

Aside from subpar graphics, anyone find stealth a problem. Specifically, using a rifle with a silencer? It doesn't matter how far you are, enemy AI will rush towards you like Borderlands.

I haven't played since Sunday, but my recollection is that if you *kill* then from stealth, and you're not in their line of sight, you're fine. If you shoot them but it didn't kill, they find you.

I shoot from out of sight. Whether ai is killed or not, it becomes a battle.

Damn this game only runs at 30fps? Was going to play it on the One X but maybe I'll stick with PC... I'd be playing at 1080p though so not sure if resolution changes frame rate at all.

I wonder if you set your X to 120 Hz if it would help latency?

I've melee killed several in stealth, but never tried with a gun. I think the trick could be crouching combined with bullet time (or TTD whatever) to start with a stealth hit and get a bunch of critical shots in on their noggin to stun (so slowing their response even further) and finish them off.

I think it's not just stealth and being out of sight, but it seems to work when you are crouched in the high grass and your companions aren't engaging. My guess is that unless you're one shot sniping from a great distance, the companions aggro and that starts open combat.

Also, I hit a major bug where I would ctd when opening the menu when I was in
Phineas' station. I had just reached level 24 and trying to open the menu to assign skill/perk points froze and crashed. Fortunately I was able to walk back to the ship and disassemble the s***ton of guns and armor in my inventory at the workbench and that seemed fo fix it. Probably still not as buggy as Kotor 2 but it's still a damn good game.

I'm way late to this as I haven't had much time to play, but finally finished all the side quests and got both companions in the first area. Got on my ship and am headed to the second area.

Diverted power to The Botanical Gardens FWIW. Also, combat is so much easier once you get better armor and two companions. Thinking about changing the difficulty up lol

I finished the game Monday night. I agree on the combat - I dropped from Hard to Normal before I had picked up a companion but I think now I could have pulled it off. I started a second, psycopathic playthrough briefly on Hard that is intended to be melee primarily and so far it's not too bad, but I'm only about a half hour in.

But, yeah, on my main playthrough I wasn't even upgrading armor after maybe even the midpoint, I was just switching occasionally to +dialog or +stealth skills armors based on what I needed at the time.

Game is good so far. Nice to have interesting dialog and world(s). Funny and natural.

Combat could be better, but I wasn't expecting more tbh. I'd kill for this kind of game that controlled like Rage 2.

Patch out now

The numbers separating the conversations are a nice touch.

As far as the game goes, finally getting close to being done with Monarch. I believe I'm level 21 currently, with about 19 hours of gameplay so far.

The patch fixed my main issue of compainion quest not doable because of compainions being marked as dead on normal difficulty. So I finally finished alot of companion quests last night and will be moving on to the final mission tonight.

I bought the game on release and even bought a PS4 just to play the game, but I still haven't gotten around to playing it. It's been sitting there for a month. Guess I wasn't as interested as I thought I was. Go figure. I'll get around to it eventually...

I was surprised to hear as much negative feedback as I did. Some people enjoyed it, to be sure, but plenty seem kind of "meh" or disappointed with the experience. That surprised me, based on how well it reviewed.

edit: update 12/8, still haven't gotten to it.

I resumed playing again after the patch..I was too scared after the talk about getting stuck in quests. I just finished the first "decision"in Edgewater. I really love the writing in this game. If they will concentrate on graphics and animations, voice acting for your character, better stealth and less crap loot management, TOW 2 will be amazing.

I wonder if they are ever going to fix the xbox one x LOD issue?

nvm, they fixed it:

General:
  • Edit: Foliage on the Xbox One X now is now closwer in parity with the foliage on PlayStation 4/Pro. This does not affect Xbox One base or S models.
  • The achievement/trophy for "It's Not the Best Choice" will pop correctly

My only knock on the game is the combat does not keep me invested. I like the universe they created, the RPG elements, the characters and conversation system, quests are interesting.... just the combat is not much fun for me.
