Welp, got my very own apartment for the first time in my 31 years on this earth. Ready to fill it up with things that make me happy, only to lose it all in a fire because my alter ego wanted to create a club where dudes go to fight each other, and then turn it into a terrorist organization.

Any tips for living alone?

Main thing that comes to mind is do not be in a hurry to fill the place up with stuff or decorate. Start minimal and enjoy the space you have.

I'm in a slow process of getting a place to after mostly living out of a company semitruck last year while running 12 day stretches. I finally got a home daily driving job.

Sadly we decided to break up like right before the quarantine process began. Her feelings changed I guess, and while she still loves me she wants to be single for now I guess. Had a lot of time to think about it and while I'm still upset, I'm just ready to move on with my life if she doesn't want to be together. Moving out this weekend.

Onward and upward always, excited for my very own bachelor pad <3

I'm sorry for the pain of loss you feel now, it'll take time but will pass.
If I may give advice, don't hurry up searching for someone to fill her place, try to enjoy the loneliness, it can be very soothing and reinvigorating.
Also, if not prone for addiction, alcohol in moderation while enjoying the little (or big) things always worked for me.

Ha thanks man. Yeah that's the goal right now, wanna stay single and get situated for a while. Hopefully things start to open back up in the not too distant future, because my new neighborhood is a hotbed for activities, restaurants, and bars.

My neighbors house went up in flames early this morning. She was a disabled woman. From what I can tell, she didn't make it. They were doing compressions on her when they loaded her into the ambulance. It hasn't budged since and from my pov I could see she was covered, including her head.

From talking to one of my neighbors, she was in the early stages of alzheimers and her daughter had gotten her some electric heaters which is probably the cause.

Wait.. what? Lol

The woman who died was basically living there on her own. My neighbor had spoken to the woman's daughter and son about putting her in a nursing home. The woman was in no condition to be living there by herself. At one point, not too long ago, the woman's daughter bought her some electrical heaters which my neighbor disagreed with. My neighbor, by the way, is a retired caretaker. My neighbor would check in on her from time to time because she couldn't take care of herself. Sometimes the woman would remember who my neighbor was and sometimes she wouldn't.

You could make a argument that her children's inaction on her worsening condition led to her death.

That's sad, but how can anyone be sure that the heaters are to blame? I mean, she could left something on the oven?

She was basically confined to her room and depended on others for her meals.

Anybody got any recommendations for a pots and pans set that won't set me back too much? Would prefer to keep it under $100 if possible. Doesn't need to be a 15+ piece set, just like two sizes of each pan, plus a few pots.

Thanks fellas.

Whatever you get make sure they are ptfe and pfoa free. Best bet would be just stainless steel in your price range to make sure you don't get trash. You won't get them for a while unless you order from Bed Bath and Beyond most likely. Make sure you get a coupon. Pick what you need from here. A little more than what you want to spend, but it'll pay off in the long run. https://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/st...collection/211659?keyword=stainless-steel-pan

Yeah these are great, I'll probably order them or something similar later today. Of course the two stainless steel pans are sold out lol

What if you were to do it yourself?

I'd be more than happy to if I had the equipment. I'm not sure if they finish the connection to the house using copper line or coax? All I've ever had here was dial-up and horrible satellite internet. They just lashed the cable to the 1950's phone line that's no longer being used in this area.

Dang, that sucks...you sir deserve said fiber connection, even if you won’t let us drag race our riding mowers ;)

Anyone remember back in the day where you had to return Coke/Pepsi bottles back to the store in those little cardboard cartons? I remember opening some bottles of Coke that wreaked of cigarettes or chewing tobacco...so terrible. That was such a terrible idea.

Well I don't know if it's just boredom because of being locked in all the time, but I've found myself spending a lot more time on nostalgic things lately. Maybe just thinking back to the good days. Grew up in the 90s so listening to a lot of music, watching movies, etc from that time. Maybe YouTube algorithm because of the music I've been listening to, but had this video come up in my recommended feed. Graduated in 2004 so a bit before my time, but I feel like I was situated between a time like this and maybe someone graduating 4 years after me and the differences in technology.

This is total bullsh;t. Is this person fishing for an insurance claim or something?

I weaved a 53' trailer in between them and another trailer.

This place is annoying; there is always a car or truck here, but this is the first time I've had to back into this spot here.
