Today, I went back to the office after 3 months. Very a few people but we are moving to ramp-up to full capacity eventually.

I just accidentally hit an owl with my car, it hit the hood and just barely missed the windshield. Hood looks fine but owl looks like girl in exorcist when she turn her head 180°

what kinda car do you drive, is it a rolls Royce and it tried to snatch the hood ornament? Oh and how fast were you going? Was it late at night?

A 2019 VW Tiguan, so no need to snatch anything lol
It was a couple hours ago... maybe around 5.30am here, I guess he forgot his coffee.

very nice, not a hummer but close, brownie points if it’s a diesel and or a manual ;) :) I’m really tempted in getting an atlas or atlas sport, but really I want the golf wagon with a manual and mkv gti pizza cutters

It's funny, 15 years ago hardly any car was automatic here for some strange reason, everyone bought with manual. I remember thinking that those with automatic shifting cars had some learning disorder or had it imported.
Today no one buys a car with manual unless it's a smaller second car for the household.
I almost exclusively drive with the adaptive cruise control and it's not preferable with a manual car, so yeah, it's automatic, sorry lol

A Tiguan is a nice car. However in automatic well that drops your manliness form a 11 to a 2. Might as well be a trans woman at this point.

Even my big work truck is an automatic, but I did pass my CDL on a 10 speed. That was a pain in the ass.

Automatics are awesome in cities like fvcking Atlanta or slow construction zones so I don't have to keep working the clutch.

For trucks auto is definatley the way to go, you have more than enough to concentrate on.

I drove manual for 15 years... EVERY SINGLE CAR I owned... that's 9 cars. There's not a single moment I can remember that it had any pros whatsoever.
Driving manual sucks.

If your not an enthusiast then an auto makes sense. That way you're more free to talk on the phone, eat, and put on your makeup.

What's going on with Amazon? I was looking to buy something last night and noticed delivery date of next Sunday. Started checking a bunch of other random stuff and all Sunday as well. What happened to Prime 2-day shipping? Did a quick search and yea back in March when s*** hit the fan they were prioritizing stuff but it's August. What am I paying $120 a year for 5+ day shipping?

I notice you have to pay a lot more attention when ordering now. Before covid, I would order anything prime and it would be here in 1-2 days. Now it depends where it is coming from. If something is in stock in the next town over, it will be here fast, but otherwise, it is another day or two sometimes.

When you order something, add it to the cart and they should show the expected arrival date. If it is more than 2 days, try finding something similar if you can. You have to be careful as some stuff won't ship for months.

It does suck, on one hand I know covid makes life hell for them, but like you said, we're paying for it.

Amazon gave me a credit card that gives me basically Amazon credit back on everything I order so I keep it. Pays for prime and then some.

Honestly I think everything from the manufacturers all down the supply chain is fubar. Anything I order outside of Amazon is weeks and weeks, so Amazon is still much faster, relatively.

Best Buy and Target are damn fast. Faster than Amazon with nearly everything I purchase. If you need something you can get from those sites, go there first.

I had to learn how to drive a 4 speed manual 1969 Ford F250 farm truck when I was 9 and I almost put it through the side of the barn. I didn't know about parking brakes and left it sitting on a slight hill and it rolled and started up hitting the barn. It wasn't one of these newer simplistic shifters that go into gear easily, it was like 2.5 feet tall and it was a pita to go through the gears without grinding them.

I held off on the order and checked back a couple days later. It ended up being 2 day shipping then. I try to minimize my Amazon shopping but some things just make more sense through them, price wise or just being generally available at all in this case.

First time i read this, i read "i was was like 2.5 feet tall."

I thought about getting a manual car but I didn't see one in the model I was looking at. I would also like a refresher on manual car shifting so I don't abuse the transmission to much and I didn't see a convenient way to do that.

Manual Cars do not work like Manual Semi-Truck shifting.

If you can drive a manual truck a car should be easy peasy. I can't say i'm an expert but its just the old push all the way down, try to get the gas and clutch to go up and down at similar rate and go with the flow of the gearbox and if you want you go into neutral to float and break to a stop. I got 80k miles out of my stock clutch on an Evo so I must have done something right, the mechanic said that most get 30k ish. I also try to rev match when downshifting to keep it smooth. Only thing is rolling back, oh i burn the clutch on some of the steeper hills, i do wish i had the hill start from the STI.

Yea if you get a manual, check if it has hill start. That should make life easier.
