Some 3D designs (start simple) I made for 3D printing. My 3D printer should arrive hopefully tomorrow- So excited.


Conroller stand & cable holder for my headphone. The design for the cable holder is such that the cable can be easily attached & remove & with minimal stratches on the cable.

They are done in Catia if anyone is curious.

By the way, I am watching so youtube videos on figurine painting, as I will be doing a 3D print figurine (from stretch) project once I am ready (after gaining enough experience).

A few years back, I walked into a hobby shop that sell/teach painting action figurines. The employee or employer) asked me if I needed anything. I asked him, how do I made these figurines. He said if I meant how to paint these. I said no, I say how to made the figurines. He laughed at me. He said no one made this (solo), people just buy from professional made & paint them.

By the way, my first project will be Captain Marvel (from the comic, not MCU), as she is simple (basic costume) & I have already base female model (which made myself & update over the years & used as base) which I can modified.

Steps
1) Basic concept/pose for captain Marvel
2) 3D modeling/scupting
3) 3D print set up
4) Preparation for paint
5) Paint.

It will be very challenging as I have no experience in steps 3 to 5.

Machine Drill, paint brushes, clear coat, primer, Black Matt spray, One set of gloss color acrylic paint, sandpapers of different grits.

Not sure cots of making figurine.

The machine I bought cost 360€

Hopefully, when I apply primer (tomorrow), the lines will be gone.

Then I will try to apply the matt black spray paint, followed by a clear coat to finish the job.

Simple 3D print cable hook to mount on existing headphone rack.

The headphone cable was always a PITA and entangled often & just not neat (see picture 1)

I have to do some filing, drilling, as the clips are too small due to the resolution of the print. Also, the material isn't very flexible.

But lesson learned. I will make holes slightly bigger than theorical dimension.

Final results. layer Lines are still visible. There is another finer level which shoulöd reduce lines but I think some post-work is needed for aesthetic parts.

Yeah, people always sand after. There are some solutions, I believe, that smooth out lines.

Cable holder.
I was gonna keep it the base translucent color, but due to the need to file off the supports leaving the nasty white-colored rough surface, I decided to coat ot with black paint.

I am thinking of starting a 3D print hobby thread so as not to bombard random thought threads with my personal 3D print projects, as well as a one thraed source for 3D print discussion & info.

Yeah, knew somebody would latch onto it with this viewpoint, but in her words this is something new. Not a case where she has been living another life for decades. Again, her words, not mine.

She isn’t lazy in any way. One of the smartest people I’ve met, too. But with zero professional work experience and job or career, my brother will now be forced to support her along with the kids. I’d be a pretty cold person to not worry about my own brother in such a situation, and frankly she is probably a distant third on my list of concerns. She went on a date a day after asking for separation.

Even saying that it doesn’t seem contentious at all. Which is a positive. Just a sad situation all around.

I can't speak to anyone's experience but my own but I knew I was gay before I knew what being gay really was, never had any kind of attraction to women at all. I was asked out by girls and always declined because I didn't want to lead anyone on, it sounds like your sister in law is saying she didn't know until recently. I don't know if I buy it when people say that but it's not up to me to tell others what their experience is like.

IF that's the case as disruptive as it is it's better that they get divorced now, heterosexual couples divorce all the time for lesser reasons than this so I wouldn't hold it against her. The dating the day after telling him is in bad taste and I hope that she'll look for a job ASAP and not try to use him as a personal ATM machine. You say she's not lazy and that she's very smart so that's promising, hopefully things will go as smoothly as possible for him. There is nothing wrong with you feeling bad for your brother at all.

I hope no hard feelings build up for the kids sake, divorce is never easy on kids but when the parents don't fight about it in front of them and show respect for each other it's the best way it can go. My brother who just passed away cheated on his wife a long time ago with someone they both knew, it was that point his life started a downhill spiral that he never really recovered from. We had no contact with the kids not because she wouldn't allow it but because he told us not to now they are 24 and 18 and we haven't seen them since they were 8 and 2. I hope this ends up being something where once the dust settles they can be real partners in raising the kids and back each other up when needed.

I wouldn't make her a villain the way I've seen others here do but I also wouldn't praise her, she's doing what is likely best for them all around though. Kids growing up with parents who don't love each other can tell, they'll learn the wrong way to treat another person. Your sister in law likely would have started to resent your brother even though he did nothing wrong simply because that's what a lot of people do, they end up looking at that person as an obstacle to their happiness. I've seen that happen, people stay "for the kids" and they end up cheating on each other which causes all kinds of other issues. I hope your family doesn't experience anything like that and that the best is made of an undesirable situation.

Sunset for all we know, maybe be swimming in cash, live the life of rich & famous, now on a excutive island beach surrounded by hot chicks for all we know. You have to let go of him. He is no longer with us.

The only thing we shared is the good taste in games.
