Went back to my old job at the pellet mill. They even gave me more money coming back than what I made when I left. I wish I would have never left I had 4 years at this company and I really did enjoy my job. Back handling their shipping and receiving. The guy that took over for me they said was terrible. They’re happy I’m back.

The work schedule at that other company I left for back in May just got too crazy. Working weeks at a time with no day off. Money was great but I couldn’t work a schedule like that with a family.

I'm close to quitting my job.

About a year ago, I made my move out of Wisconsin to Alabama. I'm on the Eastern Shore across the bay from Mobile. My job up north was Yard Jockey and down here I got back into a Regional Tractor Trailer to run Southeast freight. It is boring AF, but at least I got out of the snow.

For job history purposes, I decided to complete a year and I'm just about there. I'm deciding my next move browsing Indeed.com or trucking forums. Also deciding if I want to get a TWIC card for the ports access and maybe get Hazmat.

I want more local work or hometime. This driving for 11 days is bulls***.

Not worth it working a job you hate. I’m making a little less an hour now, but I’m 5 mins from home, back at two weeks vacation, paid holidays, and discounts on grills plus free pellets for them.

I spend most of my day getting orders ready and loading or unloading 53’ trailers with a forklift. I just put my ear buds in listen to podcasts or sports radio. When I’m not doing that I just help out in the mill. We’re getting a lot of OT and since I’m so close to home I still get home at a decent time.

Wish you good luck man hope you find something better.

Well, I just heard that my current dispatcher put in her 2 weeks notice and is leaving the company in early December. She was easy going and nice to deal with which is very rare in this business.

The strange frustrating thing is this will put me back under the first dispatcher I had with this company who I did not get along with at all. I think he's actually a bit of a flake or control freak. He would call me on the phone all the time for the dumbest crap instead of message me on the truck computer. Or if he didn't get me on the phone leave a Voice Mail. C'mon man don't make me pull up a VoiceMail menu send me an Email or Tablet Message.

i'm almost tempted to put in my 2 weeks as well like tomorrow even though I was planning to wait until December.

I'm on the way home and now have to think over job leads I'm interested in or if I should just quit and take some time off.

Woke up yesterday feeling pretty sick, went to work and decided to ignore it. Woke up today feeling worse so I went and got checked out. I have something very similar to strep throat, but not actually strep throat. I'm on antibiotics for five days, and officially can't go see my family for Thanksgiving anymore because I'm too contagious to be around my 5 month old niece.

This sucks 😀

Posted on the Mobile, AL Facebook Job Group I was looking for local trucking work. Get responses from Rednecks with the Confederate Flag in their profile looking for local dump truck drivers for construction.

It's so weird I'm in this industry trying to make a living. I'm a techy geek computer guy why am I stuck in this dumb industry? I guess it's partly because education is outrageously expensive.

Another random thought popped into my head while browsing the internet. (I'm bored)
I've come to conclusion that I'm not a fan of red lipstick on women. It just stands out too much and honestly makes them look cheap.

I mean look at Christina Aguilera here. I much rather prefer her natural look.

I get the eyelash accentuating. But the natural shape of her lips is amazing. But with the red lipstick, Idk, it just looks like a mannequin or something.

RIP.

I’ve had a cold since last Thursday. Coughing, sneezing, stuffed up. Lost my taste buds a couple days ago. I won’t be able to taste the great food today 🙁

Quit my job and gave 2 weeks notice. I'll clean out most of the truck before doing another run and turning it in.

Might even take the rest of December off while getting some other license endorsements.

Lost my voice tonight on the company's Christmas smörgåsbord, I had a good run though, ate all the good foods and drinks.

RIP my colleagues

I had one and was afraid that would happen. Mucinex to the rescue, that s*** is magic.

I love Coke better than Pepsi. I used to like Pepsi but now, ugh. Can't stand the taste. :(

I drink diet and diet Pepsi is 1000% better than diet coke :) When I drank the regular stuff I liked them both equally but Dr. Pepper was my favorite.

Coke and Pepsi tastes exactly the same.
Coke zero and light (diet) tastes exactly the same.
In a blind test it's 50/50.

Coke and Pepsi do taste different. I don't drink soda much but the two are definitely discernable especially considering Pepsi has more sugar in its formula. Maybe the formulas are a bit different where you're from.

vanilla coke definitely taste different.

Ever scared of falling asleep? Energy drinks, coffee?

I try to stick to just black coffee. Energy Drinks become weirdly addicting for me. Sometimes eating spicey food like jalapeno kettle chips helps with the boredom. I know that kind of snacking is unhealthy, but this whole job is unhealthy.

I do see other truck drivers that get a coffee loaded with sugar plus they dump a 5 Hour energy right into the coffee.

I'm quitting and taking the rest of December off after I finish this run and turn in my truck. I'm hoping to use my recent experience to find another driving job with more reasonable hours.

I went like 10 years of only drinking maybe 2-3 sodas a year, mostly at holiday party or something. Recently I've started drinking it again, although I did stop drinking Red Bull and other energy drinks. I've just stuck with diet but I've heard it's worse for you than regular? idk I'll take the lower calorie intake vs worrying about another weird chemical that is just included with all the other weird chemicals in food.

Videodrome I was home for Thanksgiving which meant Beloit WI. Crazy seeing the truck stops there along I-90 just packed on the night before. Really is a thankless job so I wouldn't blame you for wanting to go local instead.

Enjoy your time off my man. Sounds like the roads were starting to drag on you a bit

I get a Coke or a Dr. Pepper every once in a while when I'm out to eat, but don't drink soda at home, ever.

Seltzers are a game changer on cutting back on soda and beer
