I see this stuff so often and try not to post it, but today this was just a bit much. So I said I'd make a thread where I will only post reports, articles and videos of things that those supposedly "good guys with a gun" did that were/are questionable.

People don't kill people, guns kill people. But guns don't kill people, bullets kill people. And bullets are made out of copper alloys or steel.

Ban copper alloys or steel!!!!

My good friend bought a gun, as a new father he wanted something to protect his family. Since then he's only taken it out to go to target practice, he's never even shown anyone the gun (amongst our friends/band mates), not even me or his girlfriend, nobody knows where it is in his home and he's never had to use it. He's a good-guy gun owner.

That is one reason I'm for gun owners now days you need to protect your family. And a concealed permit holder can help in a public situation.

I do remember a year or two ago a older man was in a public place I think it was a restaurant in Florida he had a permit and his gun with him. A man came in with a gun trying to rob the place so the older man pulled out his gun and shot him. The suspect said afterwards that he was not going to hurt anyone with his gun just wanted the money. First of all do not go into a public place with a gun trying to rob it and then get upset when you get shot. 2nd what if he did hurt someone and the older man did not have his gun to stop it. All the people there were happy someone stepped up and protected them.

Appeal to Emotion: for when your argument is crap to begin with.

Glock 45, 38 special.
How many good people who drive drunk kill innocent people, daily?
What about an invading army? You don't think that didn't cross Russian minds during the cold war?
We have certified Gangsters on both costs, and Rednecks in the middle.
Bring on any nation.
It won't be no Red Dawn crap, it'll be a freaking slaughter for any nation.

Russia were never going to invade the US during the cold war. It wasn't even a war.

People have to over compensate. Whether it be with big trucks or guns, got to let them feel better about themselves, ya know?

As a former anti-gun advocate I really used to believe that. However, the statement says more about the person saying it than the person they are directing it towards.

Girl shot while turkey hunting

A high school student was shot while turkey hunting at Smithville Lake, and her family hopes authorities can find the person who fired the shots.

The 18-year-old teen was shot while hunting by herself about 10 a.m. Wednesday. The person who shot her left without providing assistance.

The girl's mother posted pictures of her daughter's wounds on her Facebook page. In her post, the mother asks for help in identifying the shooter.

"When she was shot, she started yelling and the guy took off. Luckily she was able to get out of the woods and to her truck to drive herself to the hospital," the victim's mother says in her Facebook post. "She may have to have surgery on her foot to remove shot that is lodged against her tendon. Please share and maybe the person can be caught."

lol so in response to a thread about leos who are screwing up you post a thread about mostly bad guys doing bad things. You sir are a winner.

I could start posting good uses of firearms i come by those everyday too. I have one right now of a grandma who was shot while getting robbed who used her CCW to fire back and defend herself. but who cares about the truth right?

The easiest and most effective way to civilize a population is to teach it cowardness. Whenever people choose or are force to to live like sheep, they die like sheep whenever a wolf slips into the fold. I don't need to remind anyone of recent massacres that would have been cut short had but one good guy had a gun, and the guts to use it. I don't have an easy answer as to how to curtail violence, but for society to surrender it's weapons for the apparent peace and security of a police state seems a rather draconian solution. Especially since the criminal element won't be surrendering theirs. Guns and automobiles, when used properly, are no danger to society, but of the two, automobiles kill more people every year.

How did it happen and what helped you come around?

I took a few years to analyze all of my opinions and beliefs. To try and be as painfully honest as possible. Deciding, 'do I believe this because I think it's true, because someone else told me it's true, or because it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside?' Most anti-gun people are either just afraid, arrogant, or don't believe they could handle owning a gun so no one should. I was the 2nd and 3rd. I often used the stereotype of gun owners as ignorant rednecks who are compensating for a small penis. It's a false and weak statement. History should enough of a lesson that the greatest murderer of people are governments. And in almost all of those instances the people were disarmed just before the crap hit the fan.

Redneck is a term first coined by the English for non-Anglican protestants. You might want to check and see if you qualify. It's most often applied to people of Ulster Scott or Scotch-Irish descent, today. Seventeen US presidents were "Red Necks".
