Official Thread The Switch Thread

I was going to start Zelda BOTW soon. Is it better to play that docked or in handheld? I have the dock on my oldest sons 50” 4K HDR tv.
I thought it looked great on my 65" 4K Samsung LED, and it technically should look like s*** lol
The colors are fairly muted on the switch screen and Zelda really shines when the colors pop, so in my case TV was a better experience but I did finish up the last shrines in handheld though.

I started playing Zelda BOTW docked that game is beautiful and already has me hooked. I tried playing it in handheld later at night but using two sticks is really uncomfortable.

I picked a Pro controller yesterday. So much better docked and in handheld now.

My oldest boy been playing Fortnite on it. It looks and runs surprisingly well. Wish it had COD Warzone.

So my brother came to stay with me for the weekend and he brought his Switch. I want one so bad now, anybody got any leads on one that doesn't cost over MSRP?

My local Walmart and GameStop have been getting a couple here and there lately. That’s how I got ours recently.

Find me a Switch for MSRP and I'd love to! Have some alerts turned on, but all I get in return right now are bundles that I don't want that cost $450 lol.

Have you checked all your local stores? Yeah those bundles are pricey.

Swede have you played Mario Tennis Aces? Any good?

Yeah, it's fun with friends, not so much alone though. It's a bit like bomberman and Mario party in that it's really amazing if you have 3 friends over (or family) but feels extremely repetitive playing by yourself. I'd say buy it on sale (it's Nintendo, so prob never happen lol) if under $25.

WELP I got one. Picking it up on 6/18 from my local Best Buy.

I wanna buy two games to start with. I'm thinking Smash Bros is one of them, what's the other?

Also lowdru2k do you know if Madden or other sports games will be releasing on Switch this year?

Mario Odyssey is amazing. Best 3D Mario ever imo.
Cool. I had Super Mario Galaxy on the Wii...probably the last time I ever played one, but I loved it so much. Always thought the city implementation looked awesome, but came out to mixed reviews IIRC.

My brother just told me there's a Buy 2 Get One Free at Target next week, I'll probably get Smash, Mario Kart, and either Zelda or Mario.

Not sure about Madden, it does have NBA 2K20 and FIFA 20.

Mario Kart it’s a lot of fun coop I like playing it with my kids it also has online MP. I’ve watched my wife play Mario Odyssey it looks really good I just haven’t tried it myself. From what I’ve played of Zelda BOTW so far it’s amazing!

I downloaded New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe Edition last night on the sale for my kids and wife to play. It looks to be a good side scrolling Mario game.

I noticed Torchlight 2 is on sale as well going to download that next I never played the sequel and some hack n slash action on the Switch sounds great.

Zelda just seems like quite the undertaking right now lol. I bought AC:O recently so I'm working my way through that, don't really want to start an epic single player game until that's done.

Wish Madden was announced, honestly just for the sake of travel and what not it'd be nice to have a Franchise Mode that I could take with me.

Yes I’ve heard Zelda is a 60+ hour experience. The world looks huge!

I don’t think I’ve seen a bad review of Mario Odysse, has a 97 score on Metacritic. Best game on the Switch.

Zelda > Mario on switch, but I can see people picking Mario, it's much easier to get into and you can play it in 10 minute chunks and still enjoy it. Zelda takes more of your time, or at least more continual gaming chunks.
I do think Zelda gets the Nintendo magic best though and honestly would say it's prob the most magic Nintendo have given us since A Link to the past.
