Official Thread The Switch Thread

I never played that one.
I liked Ocarina of Time, which I played on the 3DS maybe a couple years ago, so it's been a slow process on the series. I know in the other thread I s*** on the price of the NSO expansion, but considering I'd have to buy Majora's Mask anyways, I may give in and just play the N64 version on the Switch.

I bought the SNES controller to use for those games on NSO. Want to play through some of those as a break from my main games and seems like that controller works pretty well.

I got Rogue Legacy for $4 digitally Thanksgiving weekend. Pretty addictive side scrolling rogue like that’s is tough. I like it.

I got Children of Morta Complete Edition digitally for $15. I played it couple years ago on GamePass, it’s a great Diablo style rogue like. I loved it was one of my favorite games that year looking forward to playing it again will be perfect on Switch.

Anyone get Project Triangle? Was going to get it day one just hooked on Elden Ring now so I’m going to wait.

I ordered it Friday from Walmart with a delivery scheduled for today. Walmart had it for 49.99 USD instead of the normal 59.99 USD. With the way Switch/Nintendo games don't go on sale, it was a good bargain. Plus I had enough Microsoft reward points for a $10 USD Walmart gift card. All that combined was my sign to go get it.

I've played maybe 2 hours worth. It Final Fantasy Tactics in EVERYTHING but name. Be aware, it is VERY story and dialog heavy. That's my thing so I don't mind. A slow burn for sure.

wshowers is the leveling up characters and working to unlock different skills just as good as FFT was? I remember I would grind for hours to get the best skills for each job class.

Yes it is but its a little different from FFT leveling system. So far a Mage or magic user will never class into a warrior type. Which make strategy key. You only have so many archer characters or warrior characters so you have to use them wisely.

Also the leveling system is a PER character basis so if a character wasn't in a battle or didn't do anything in the battle, they don't get EXP. So you have to rotate character to get the most out of your team. There is a grind as is expected from a JRPG but it doesn't seem so harsh early on. ( Playing on normal). A good portion has trying set up units to not get overwhelmed.

Also the game throws ALOT of lore at you all the time, which didn't sit right with a few critics. Also some of the choices take you to different places meeting and recruiting different people. Early on there is a choice of going to visit a snow region vs a desert and the results couldn't be more different.

The game is a delightful change of pace from the games I have been playing. I know Elden Ring is the game du jour right now but its a shame this game is and will be overlooked. Unless BOTW 2 or Metroid Prime 4 come out this year, Triangle Strategy might be my Switch GOTY.

I plan on getting it over the next couple months when I’m ready to dive in. Looking forward to it.

Not a bad start for such a niche game.

Triangle Strategy is by far one of the best games I've played this year. If you are a SRPG fan at all you need to give it a try. Its going to be forgotten under the Elden Ring hype and that's a shame. Its up there with the greats like FFT and Ogre Tactics. The branching storyline is really unique in the the fact that what you do or don't do effects the story in large and small ways.

Got Final Fantasy 7,8, and 9 on sale digitally. I haven’t played these games in many years. Looking forward to playing through them again going to be perfect in handheld mode.

I was curious about something. Whenever I uninstall digital games on our Switch to make room does it keep your game saves in the Cloud or Nintendo Online servers like XB does?

If you pay for switch online, most games keep saves. There's a setting for this somewhere in the settings. Basically the only reason I pay for their s***ty online service lol

Also, it keeps saves on system memory if you uninstall (there's an option to delete the saves too I think).

I'm still working on Triangle Strategy. Its a long game and I got distracted. However so far its my GOTY. Again its a shame it will get overlooked by the end of the year because it is a really good game.

Finished Triangle Strategy. Until something else comes out and sweeps me off my feet, its my GOTY. Its a tactics game done right. Not too grindy, good story and characters, along with fun game-play. Can't ask for anything else. I personally never got tired of playing it. LOVED the HD-2D art style.
Based on the story and battle choices you make during the game, you get substantially different endings. There are 4 endings and I got 1 of the ones that's mostly neutral. I might go back and replay the game since it has a new game+ mode and try to get the happiest ending. The only thing stopping me is my backlog and how long this game is.

I didn’t know the OG Puzzle Quest was on Switch with DLC. Installed it last night for $15. Going to be my new go to kicked back before bed. Game never gets old.

I beat Xenoblade yesterday afternoon. Game content and the characters were really well done. Some balance issues in the final area of the game even though I was overleveled. Can't wait for the future story expansion.
