The Witcher 3 system requirements revealed.

I'm ready but damn.. that release date is way too far away! And Batman:AK will be out a month later.

Its still kinda beefy though. Entry level desktops and laptops need not apply.

Alot of people are gonna need to upgrade for this one.

Spec is decent, as a mid 2015 game. I am due for upgrade for sure, but its good to know that my (soon to be) beast should be able to run at very high settings.

Any news on consoles? res, fps (expect 30 anyway) After Dragon age 3 often choppy experience on PS4, I am not so sure the more graphical intensive Witcher 3 will run well....

Wait I think I am doing it wrong. According to Vaillance, it will be 2-3 years before PC catch up to consoles, & consoles are 2-3 times more efficient than PC of same spec. I expect fullHD at solid 60fps & Ultra settings on PS4 then.

It's not really beefy. The recommended specs are my specs, and I consider my pc just a notch above entry level for gaming. And in most likely, that will be for folks that want to max out or near max out the game. A gamer will more than likely be able to at least run the game at better visuals/performance on a pc that is slightly less than the recommended specs.
Not bad at all.

I couldn't play Witcher 2 because of the requirements. I hope they scale it down for people like me. I'm not in the mood yet for building a gaming PC yet.

Not according to the Steam hardware survey LOL.
TBH I would consider the gtx 760 entry level.
because the majority of those players are casual gamers similar to the demographic that play world of war craft which inflates that number. Those that play anything that has been made in the past year or two is capable of probably running this game well. Games like witcher or metro have seen great success and support from the pc gaming community. Clearly the demographic is there and numerous.

P.S Apparently the hardware detector steam uses is unable to differentiate between a titan or an onboard discrete gpu meaning the system steam has in place to do these surveys are far from perfect.

Honestly, I'd have to say it would be saying a lot if "casual gamers" are the ones hardcore enough to pay a monthly subscription fee for just to play their World of Warcraft game. I don't think it is within your power to just claim that the majority of Steam users or users of any gaming service are casual gamers.

Get it on console then.

It's just common sense. For example, on console...the "majority" of console gamers are still using almost 10 year old hardware. It really is no different than PCs. PC gamers that "want" to play Witcher 3 will most likely be the kind of gamers that do have the hardware to play the game. There are over 100 million Steam users....it's common sense to assume that the majority of them don't have high end PCs....the same way the majority of console gamers don't have next gen systems.

(for the record, WoW is a pretty casual game, my young daughter plays it...it's like a gaming chat room)

Really? I mean the minimum requirements were hella low. An 8800GT ran it decently. You didn't even have that? Good god...there's no way in hell you're running Witcher 3 if you couldn't even meet the minimum for Witcher 2.

Just get it on PS4/XBO for your own sanity....and get a newer machine while you're at it. :3
