Where does it say how many hours you have? If it's on the save data, then I'm at 4+ days which means I'm upward of 96 hours? yeesh. Is that possible? I've barely been to skellege.

If you hover over your game on the home screen and press start, you can click on "game hub" and from there you can click on leaderboards. You can see time played, potions made and how many deaths. You can also compare against friends.

I don't know which version of that you got, but the way mine played out, It's debatable there was a spell at all. Geralt and Yen said they still felt the same, better knowing that any chance of a spell was gone.

That was the perfect time to kick her to the curb for superior Triss

I got to it via the Character screen. There's an option on that screen -- R2 or L2, I forget, that brings you to the character stats.

Only says 9 hours for me and I beat it so its thats broken

I just realised DLCs arte not downloaded automatically (at least on my steam account). I just installed them on steam, now I can do DLC quest & alternative costume.

I can hunt for wolf gears now.

For the last couple of days, I've been running around trying to do all the "?" quests, but I found that wasn't a very good way to play the game. First of all, there are just so many of them, it would take forever. Second, I started to run into a lot of them that were above my level (5). I'm fine if something is a couple levels above, but these were like 10 levels above, and I just ended up running away or dying. Third, they were all pretty simple, a sense of repetition set in, and I realized I was bypassing the strength of the game. Better to focus on some of the journalled sidequests or main quest. I think the "?" are meant to be sampled periodically as you go through the game, not focused on for any length of time.

Btw, for anyone on the PS4 version, swipe up on the touchpad to access the map. Saves a step.

I only go to the '?' only if its on the way to my objective. They are normally dull withe the usual treasures or bandits variants. Only few '?' are worthy like places of power, which is why I use a map to see which areas are worth exploring.

so have they done any more updates for the performance issues on consoles and even PC for that matter?

The PC version is incredibly stable as it is for the most part. I don't own the console versions, so I can't comment any further than that. I do know CD Projekt's support for the game continues.

Developer CD Projekt Red is all set for “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt” patch 1.07, that is expected to happen pretty soon, possibly next week.

The upcoming patch is said to be larger than the previous patch 1.05 update, and bring about a lot of changes and fixes for the game. There a just few details about the next update including that it will be patch 1.07 on PC and patch 1.06 on Xbox One and PS4 platforms.

Yeah last time I rented it, it was smooth as hell. Only the occasional streaming hiccup when nearing a village or something.

No significant problems that I've noticed on the PS4. I tend not to be as attuned to the visual niceties that other people are, so it's possible that I've had some technical blips and yet somehow managed to not notice them, get incensed about them, or experience a crushing sense of defeat and disappointment. Go figure.

The only technical issue I continue to have since launch has to do with audio. Sometimes during conversations it will start to "crackle", and cut out at the end of the sentence. It's not all dialogue, probably happens about 5% of the time.

Anyone else experience this? I haven't seen it mentioned here by anyone.

I also wish they would fix the start up screen, so I don't have to hit A, X, X, A every single time I load the game. I know it auto-saves, and I do not want to watch the intro movie a hundred times. Not sure why some games do this.

I also have the same occasional audio issues. Apart from that though, game runs superb on Xbox One.

I got frame rate issue since patch 1.05 on PC, & the pop in is just in your face, like character popping in helmet & hair at 5 feet. Totally immersion killing.

Now hunting for wolven gears. This game is so much value for money. So much things to do.

I just wish they allow you to jump to any quick travel location (like dragon age III) instead of having to go to a quick travel location to access other quick travel locations.

Another of my complain is the skill tree, or lack of it. I think the yellow (or blonde) color tab should be made passive (as in no need to equip). AT 12 skill slots, gaining extra skill point become pretty meaningless after certain levels, since you pretty much maxed out any useful skills in the slots.

Witcher 2 skill tress is far better.

Here's info on the new patch, 1.07 (1.06 on consoles, I believe). Happy about the bolded parts:

"As some of you may know, we are finishing up work on our next big patch, Patch 1.07. It’s a very large update introducing some key changes, including:
  • A new, alternative (optional) movement response mode for Geralt.
  • A player stash for storing items, available in various locations throughout the game. Stash locations are marked on the player's map.
  • Crafting and alchemy components no longer add to the overall inventory weight.
  • Books are now placed in a dedicated tab in the Inventory and books that have already been read are properly grayed out.
  • Multiple sorting options are now available in the Inventory.
  • Alchemy formulas and crafting diagrams can be "pinned", meaning all components and ingredients required to make them will be conveniently marked in the Shop panel.
  • Dozens of fixes for quest related issues, both major and minor.
  • A few performance enhancements, including the optimization of FX, scenes and general gameplay.
  • Various improvements to horse behavior.
"Since it's been all hands on deck working to finish and release this patch on time, we won’t be publishing a free DLC this week (don’t worry - free content comes back next week). We hope you understand our decision. We’ve gathered so much feedback from you over the past couple of weeks and we want to implement as much of it as possible. The full change list for the patch 1.07 will be coming later this week. Stay tuned for info about the release of the update itself."

I hate when you go into a quest thinking you have enough healing items and then they just throw enemy after enemy at you and you run out. Drives me nuts! You can never be too prepared i guess though.

Omg thank you!!! Having books litter the potions item list was really annoying. Having to scroll aaaalllllllllooooolllllll the way down just to drink a wyvren decoction.

Thank the f*** christ for all of that.

What grinds my gears is drinking booze to heal. Makes the screen all blurry. For as tough as nails and badass as Geralt is, he can't drink for s***. One beer and he can't even see straight.

Nice, the inventory is the only thing that I really have a major complaint about.

Does it really even heal you? Every time i drink booze it doesn't do anything for me except make the screen all blurry like you said.

I don't think eating food to heal does s*** unless I eat about 7 or 8 things at once. I'll get a quarter of health back if I'm lucky. I don't even rely on it to be honest. Quen is much more useful.

Yeah, food is okay but i usually stock up on water by stealing it from people's houses. I discovered how useful Quen is today. Was on a boss with like no life and nothing to heal myself with. Quen saved the day.

I think this is my Game of the Decade! This thing does so many things right, it's stupid. The scale of Skyrim with a story that's worth a damn. A zillion side-stories that are just as good as the main! What a legendary game :D

I'm toward the end of the Family Matters questline, which is part of the main quest. Very impressed at the complexity and length of it, the emotional tug of some of the scenes, and the humor of tough, stoic Geralt doing stuff like
ringing a bell to get a goat to follow him and playing hide-and-seek with kids
Well done.

Just wait til you get to Skellege. You think the visuals are good Now? Skellege is an awesome area, and it's friggin' massive as well.

Do you use the swallow potion? I rarely have to use any food for health recovery. If you must eat food to recover, check how long the recovery boost is for each type of food. Wolfs liver gives a good chunk of health per portion.
For new players who play on normal difficulty, your potions are refilled every time you meditate.

I'm just waiting for Bellybama to get into the game and post some pics of her Geralt..... DOES the shirtless adventurer Geralt still stalk Velen?! ;)

Is there anything which can reduce fire damage? I'm up to a really hard fire elemental and it keeps dealing fire damage even if i'm ages away and can barely attack without taking a lot of damage.

I don't think so. Use Yrden, jab, jab, dodge. Elemental Oil and Tawny potion will help too.
