Thief

Great review Ryu! I actually picked this up a few weeks ago when it was on sale for X1. I really dig it as well, but have been struggling to find time for it with Titanfall and now Trials vying for my time. Thanks to your review, I am going to get back to it tonight!

I picked up Thief the other day for 16.99 on PC, so I am not bickering over resolution or framerate or texture filtering.

Max settings, max SSAA, 16X Anistropic filtering, 1080p 80+ fps.

even on my outdated rig, I get an average of 40FPS maxed out with FXAA. You can tell the engine is poorly optimized though.

When I see this on sale for $30, I'll pick up a physical copy.

I too shall get this game when it's under $30.

Did end up buying it, now installing.

I actually picked up Thief ( £20 from Game) based on your review. Have to say am enjoying it thus far, only a couple hours in though.

Thanks for the review. I think i'm going to pick up Thief for the Xbox One soon. It does look like a really fun game.

I just picked this up on PC from greenman gaming for 16 dollars, I will probably actually sit down and dive into it tomorrow.

Hey I'm really curious to find out if any of you guys ended up playing through the game. So, didjya?! And IF so, didjya like it?!

Moreover, if anyone else out there would like to share their thoughts, opinions, or questions on the game or franchise as a whole, I'd love to hear them.

The game was ok. If you like frequently long load times the game has no equal...

I see it's on sale on PSN for $20 this week, but due to my 10GB monthly data cap I couldn't get it. I've almost pulled the trigger a few times seeing it for under $30 on eBay, but the more I've heard about it the less interested I've become...especially the closer we're getting to the holiday game explosion.

Has been a while since I played it, but I did enjoy it. The stealth mechanics for the most part worked well. The city was nice and the constant dark, gloomy atmosphere was cool. My one problem would be that it was borken down in to small areas, I really think it would have been better as a fully open world like assassins creed.

From what I remember of the story it was above average.

Well worth a go for those who like stealthy games.

Well I ended up beating it not too long ago. With the exception of hand to hand combat (which I didn't really have to use that much), I though the core mechanics of the game where pretty good. The one things that I thought they did a great job with was the audio. To me it felt like a good indicator of how quiet you were going through the level. Things like walking over glass or knocking over a bottle could give you away or using the carpet to conceal the noise of your foot steps. The biggest negative I can give the game was navigating the city and having a bad in game map didn't make anything easier. Overall I'm glad I played it. There isn't too many stealth games on the horizon so I'll take what I can get I guess.

I was enjoying it, but never did beat it. Which is to say I didn't feel it ever really grabbed me like some games do. I do plan to get back to it and see it through, it's definitely a "good" game, just not "great". Based on what I have played (at least half), I'd give it a 7.5/10.

I got this game on a Steam sale. I think it was $15 or something. I've been loving it so far. It doesn't have the exact same feel as the old Thief titles, but I've come to find after seven hours in that it's not necessarily a negative trait. I'm hoping the Thief series keeps it up, as this game shows a lot of potential.
