Three Body Problem - No Book Spoilers

I'm three episodes in. Serviceable. I think some of the changes are good; helps keep the story moving along without dragging on. However, some of the character changes are honestly insulting.

Watch two episodes so far. It’s fairly on point with the story and most the changes seem to work well for adapting it to TV. Solid enough.

Im glad the Judgement Day scene went as I had pictured in my head.

6 episodes in and this is cookie cutter sci-fi. Nothing grand, or profound here. Tried sprucing it up with crazy visuals but didn't help. Very predictable too.

Wow...different takes on it. I haven't seen it yet, but was curious.

Finished watching it last night. It was much better than I expected. The changes made to some of the character(s) actually worked out. I was surprised to see some plot points from the second book integrated into the first season.

That said, if you just felt like the first season was kinda meh, that's how many people who started reading the books felt. There are huge payoffs later in the story.

You think that maybe season two will be the last, a culmination of the last two? It has been green lit

The story is anything but cookie cutter. A number of changes have been made to make it more compatible with TV. Same with the predictability. Nothing was that obvious in the original story

Seems like that may be the case. I have a feeling they will simplify the plot of the third book dramatically for normie consumption though.

`they seem to be adapting the story rather than the first book which worked quite well for the TV version. I do agree that the changes were well suited though.

Just finished all 8 episodes and I think I'm going to watch it again. I love the introduction of the Wallfacers - that was very on point with the original.

It is cookie cutter. Literally the most played out story in the Sci-fi universe.

I don't care what the book is or isn't. I'm not reading the book. I'm watching the TV Show.

Fair enough. Still think calling it cookie cutter is a little unfair, even going specifically by the TV show. But that’s fine

Yep. I can’t see them even going all the way to the 18 million year future concepts. That’s just so…..

There are 4 books in total and it literally goes from the start of the universe right to the end of it. I’d say there is scope for some stories to be added :D

You could do a whole season on the Tri Solarans (san hi in tv show) point of view. The dude that gets turned into a brain and goes to the end of time - there is loads that could be done there. Then you have the future earth of 400 years from now, divided by into the two eras (pre and post mutual destruction). And let’s not forgot about the colony fleets that attempt to escape and discover both the dark forest and the higher dimension rifts.

They could do four or five seasons easily with the amount that is in those books.

I haven't read it, but the fourth book wasn't written by Liu.
