The Kobe Bryant then?Micheal Jordan isn't playing basketball anymore.
Does Tony Hawk still compete?Micheal Jordan isn't playing basketball anymore.
Ha, more like the 80s is when he was actually the best. He won nearly every half-pipe competition since it was invented, until maybe like the early to mid 90s.Tony Hawk is like the Queen of Skateboard. He seems to be around since forever.
When I was a kid in the 90s & skateboarding, he was already a big name.
I grew up skating in the 80s, so he already looked like an old man by the late 90s, to me too. Then again, this is how I remember him looking in the mid 80s, after he won about every pro comp year after year already. I know he was a pro since his early teens, I think.Never being into skateboarding I remember being shocked by how old he looked the first time I saw him in the late 90s.
Funny enough, he looks almost exactly the same today lol
The picture posted make no damn sense. There is for reason a pair of shoes in the top, a stakeboard in the air, and cartoon Catus that looks like a certain body part but couldn’t put a finger on what. Art... I don't remember, but I think it was an ad for a clothing line, but it does show his board, which I believe that model just came out, so it could have been an ad for Powel Peralta skateboards. It was a magazine ad, so it probably had him doing a crazy aerial maneuver on the adjacent page. He was the very first person to be sponsored by Airwalk shoes, so maybe it is their clothing line too.The picture posted make no damn sense. It's really interesting that they got a lot of the soundtrack back. For someone like me, who grew up skating in abandoned warehouses in the 80s and 90s, the original game was already very nostalgic to play. Even a lot of the music was old, and we were listening to it a decade or so before. To revisit this game again is like a multilayered memory trip that keeps going.
Lol, if reminiscing about gaming and skateboarding simultaneously is a wrong, I don't wanna be right! Both were cornerstones of my life.pfffft...ya hipster
I can understand this. I loved Skate when it came out, and I felt the same way... but I'm not sure how I feel about it these days. Gameplay seems a bit tedious, even if a whole lot more realistic. I guess that's why I never played any of the sequels to Skate. I just liked the kicked-back TH structure better. Maybe I'll revisit those games after this remake...or maybe just try Skater XL.had the skate series never come about I might've had some remaining interest in the tony hawk series, and as we're not getting a new skate it'll be skater xl for me, I'm passin' on these remasters even if I've nothing but fond memories of the originals, they're just way to arcade-y to me....
