I got almost all of these wrong.

Here's the list, if you don't want to watch the video:

10. Ocarina (The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time)
09. Deus Ex (Deus Ex)
08. Pokemon (Pokemon)
07. Raiden (Mortal Kombat)
06. Suikoden (Suikoden)
05. Tidus (Final Fantasy X)
04. Ryu (Street Fighter / Ninja Gaiden)
03. Ico (Ico)
02. Ubisoft
01. Square Enix

I got all of those wrong except Ocarina, and even Ocarina I only got credit for the alternate pronunciation. I don't think I've actually spoken any of these words out loud in my life, but I did have a way of saying them in my head. I'll probably still go on pronouncing them wrong in my head, because who cares.

Ha.
'Deus Ex' = 'Do your ex'...
:hehe:

At least that is how I always sounded it out to myself.

As for Suikoden...I could never be bothered to even try.

I found out I knew ever single pronunciation except for the Mortal Kombat one. But I've still always liked pronouncing it the wrong ways because they sound better from an American perspective. Ocarina and Dues Ex are the only ones I chose to pronounce properly.

I feel awesome, I pronounce all of those correctly. Funny tidbt, the GT guy still pronounces Ryu wrong, it's a one syllable word not two.

I had all of those right except MK as I always pronounced it the correct Japanese Rye-den. Also agree with Ketto, it's not two syllables. Still Ree-ooh, but blended and spoken as one syllable.

I got em all except Suikoden( which I stress in the wrong spot), and Tidus, which just sounds dumb as "Teedus", lol.

I refuse to pronounce it "you-be-soft," for a now spelled out reason. I've been aware of it, but I still don't say it that way.

the raiden/rayden one always pissed me off. like they had to know it was wrong, especially nowadays, they just don't care. which is the pot, kettle, black, all that.

For me it depends on the game. In Mortal Kombat I pronounce it Rayden, but MGS I say it like Ryeden. Since they brought up Ryu they could have also mentioned the pronunciation of Ninja Gaiden as well. In that case I say it like Guyden.

In Call Of Duty mp, I've noticed some 12 year olds misspronounce "that was a skillful shot", as "f*** you you f***ing f***. I'm going to f*** your mothers corpse and not call her the next day"...

It may be an accent thing though...

I refuse to pronounce Ocarina that way.

That's what i was thinking. I never felt the need to be that much of a nerd and know the right way to say it. If someone said Ocarina like that to me in real life i'd probably just laugh at them.

Well, I suck.

The only one I say properly is Ubisoft (I always thought I was wrong, because everyone I've come across says it the other way) and Ocarina "alternate" pronunciation.

I totally say Ninja Gayden. Sorry :D

I thought:

- Ninja Gaiden was "Gay-din"
- Ryu was "Rye-oooh"
- Deus Ex was "Dooze-ex"
- Xevious was "Zoo-vious"
- UBI was "U.B.I."... like FBI
