And this was on a big screen tv, like....50 inch or larger? That's interesting. Sounds like the whole thing is being very overblown then. I agree on Witcher 3, if it means the performance is going to suffer too much and other sacrifices, it's not worth it. Speaking of Witcher 3, it's a shame the framerate is just as bad in the swamp area on Xbox One as PS4 now.

Smh....the developer of Tomb Raider confirmed 1080p. The nonsense i read on NeoGAF in reply to that.....''Ok so it might be 1080p.'' or....''Is that upscaled 1080?'' Sigh...never change GAF.

The other day i wanted to register there, cause there was a interesting tv discussion going on. But i never received my validation email. Then i checked on Google and lots of people are still awaiting their validation email, for some it took even a year or longer. Pathetic...not worth all the hassle.

Yeah I have a 55" 4k TV.

Nice man. Which one? I am curious :)

I was playing TR DE the other day, and i tried out all those different outfits, but to be honest, the only 'true' TR one is the default outfit. The other ones are somewhat boring, well except for the one with the red vest. But where has Lara's hotpants go off to? I miss it, yes because it looks damn good on her but also because that's how we got to know her in the first place. Since Rise of the TR takes place in snow areas, it's only logical that she'd not be wearing hotpants, but what about that desert location? It would be perfect for that. It seems CD has gone with normal pants all the way now. Ah well...i am still hoping for some really cool outfits though. :)

My tv brand is Seiki. I probably should have waited until the 4k tv's matured a bit. It's a nice TV. It displays 1080p with really nice IQ. But it doesn't have a decoder for 4k streaming. So no 4k Netfilx for me. But I'm still happy with the set overall.

A friend of mine has a Panasonic 4K tv and imo it's really not worth it. He barely watches normal tv, his internet is too crappy for 4K streaming, there still don't seem to be blu ray in 4K out there. The consoles certainly won't do it anytime soon. How many content in 4K is there actually on Netflix now?

Netflix is also very limited right now.

my next TV will be a OLED, dont give a s*** about 4k for atleast another 5-8 years

Honestly...it seems 4K is not gonna be the mainstream thing they all hoped it would be, i heard 8K is already lurking out there. Agreed on OLED. Those deep black levels are amazing. There's an affordable one from LG right now, but it's still a lot of money. Around the 3000 euros.

Actually a lot of TV stations still broadcast in 1080i and 720p, it will take a long time before 4K is mainstream.
Yup, when my trusty Panny plasma screen dies I'll go OLED

One of my local channels (Fox 47) still broadcast's their news in 4:3. WTF.

I'm looking to get a new TV this year, but I absolutely hate buying something to replace something that has absolutely nothing wrong with it. I've been gaming on a Panasonic 50" 720p plasma for a while now, but I suuuure would like to be playing games at 1080p. Not to mention, it literally adds 5-7 degrees of heat in the living room this time of year. The back of it runs around 105F pretty much at all times.

My kids game on a betsbuy brand insignia and I can't justify the price difference between a high end model and it.

They both look the part but 7k is steep, anything for around 2/3k? or should I just wait for a year or more.

I have a P series 4k Vizeo 70inch in the main room just need one for the spare lounge.

I need a 55 inch to be honest measured the space tonight.
Did you look them up? They are less in the stores.... never go by the product pages retail prices.

Still to high?

Ok settled on http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-55EG9600-oled-4k-tv it's available for $2595 free shipping and no tax which is pretty damn good, the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger is the new version coming out in September, is the difference between the two going to be big technology wise? I don't mind spending an additional few hundred if so.

I would wait, the new models are flat not curved and the new models have HDR (high dynamic range). I'm still loving my Panny VT50 so will probably wait a couple more years before upgrading but I'm pretty sure I'll be going OLED as well.

My friend has an oled it's 2 years old and the PQ went down hill,
The TV lost brightness he has a yellow bar going though it some burn in
He is sorry he did not buy a 4 k tv

55EF9500 for example is both OLED and 4K, the best TV on the market.

I will be pulling the trigger on one for the spare room alongside a second PS4 soon.

They are amazing, can't imagine how good they will be when I finally upgrade. I hear the Panasonic models are even better, but they are much more expensive.
