In Tyranny, the grand war between good and evil is over – and the forces of evil, led by Kyros the Overlord, have won. The Overlord’s merciless armies dominate the face of the world, and its denizens must find their new roles within the war-torn realm. Players interact with the population of the populace to inspire loyalty, disgust, or fear as they roam the world as an officer in Kyros’ forces, empowered to act as both judge and executioner.

Features:
  • A branching narrative with a unique story in an original setting: The Battle between good and evil has already taken place, and evil stands victorious.
  • Choices matter - a different player experience every time you play it - As an Officer in the Overlord’s army you wield a vast amount of power in the occupied lands of the Tiers. Will you use that power to inspire stability and loyalty, or will you be a feared oppressor?
  • Challenging, classic RPG combat with modern mechanics and presentation
  • A rich original setting - a completely new and original fantasy world with rich lore and many paths to follow

Oh, I like the look of this, another game to add to my buy list.

Interesting. I wondered what happened to Obsidian. This looks like a top-down, strategic RPG?

I'm assuming gameplay is going to be something in vein of Wasteland 2, old Fallout, Pillars of Eternity types. I could be completely off though.

You need to play Pillars of Eternity. Obsidian is hitting it out of the park.

How the hell did I miss this?

I need to check my laptop when I get home tonight to see if it'll handle PoE. I don't care if I have to play in ultra-low settings or even something like the strategy view from the older Civ games, an Obsidian RPG is defnitely a must-have.

Okay, so i know of two places to check if you can run something, the System Requirements Lab one and the Game Debate one. One said I had a good enough CPU but not good enough GPU to pull it off. The other said the reverse. And there's no demo. Le sigh. I think I need to keep an eye out for a good sale on this b/c I want to play it but I don't want to spend full price and then have the game refuse to launch because it's ashamed to be seen on my machine.

I'm sure it will be amazing, but...another top down high fantasy rpg?

I would give my first born to obsidian and chris avellone (though he has since departed from the company) but they're kind of getting to be a one trick pony. Though is it specializing or rehashing? But whatever. It'll sell a s*** ton on gog.
