(Teaser already posted in spike tv thread)

Came over this theory about what the game could be about:

More interesting is the line “Every betrayed us all.” At a glance it may seem nonsensical but when you consider that Henry Every (also known as “Avery” among other names) was one of the most notorious pirates to ever set sail, pieces of the puzzle start to fall into place.
Not only was he an infamous pirate (which could also explain the skull and cross bones insignia), Every was one of the few to retire with his loot and riches in tact. Though his crew was eventually found, tried, and executed, Every eluded capture and disappeared. These lost chapters in the pirate’s life could easily set the foundation for another Uncharted adventure. However, this still doesn’t identify our “buried” and “erased” narrator.
The closest link we found was sailor Robert Drury who found himself marooned in Madagascar. However, this was some time after Every’s successful pirating career.
Since the trailer went live it has been revealed that Todd Stashwick is the man behind the mysterious voice. We briefly trawled his Twitter profile for more details but sadly none came to the surface.
(Contains spoilers from Uncharted 3)

The Latin around the very Jolly Roger style skull and cross bones is ‘Hodie Mecum Eris In Paradiso’ which means ‘Today, you shall be with me in Paradise’. This is part of the last words of Christ said on the cross(7). The full list consists of seven phrases:
  • Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do. (Luke 23:34)
  • Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:43)
  • Woman, behold your son. Behold your mother. (John 19:26–27)
  • My God, My God, why have you forsaken me? (Matthew 27:46)
  • I thirst. (John 19:2:cool:
  • Father, into your hands I commit my spirit. (Luke 23:46)
  • It is finished. (John 19:30)
These phrases are often shortened to individual words to sum up the overall message/prayer being uttered. The shortened version are:
1. Forgiveness
2. Salvation
3. Relationship
4. Abandonment
5. Distress
6. Reunion
7. Triumph

A Drake less Uncharted?

Unless it is a red herring, all the other teasers have had Drake in them, either appearance (teaser trailer for Uncharted 1 and 2) or voice for Uncharted 3.

However if a new main character not sure how well that would work, thinking about Metal Gear Solid 2, then again some game series do it very well like Resident Evil (1-5).

of course, there's no knowing exactly when the game will arrive, but many have speculated that it'll be available for the 2014 holiday season. And if Amazon's placeholder date for the new project is any indication, that might happen. Of course, December 31, 2014 could mean just about anything (the retailer just wants you to pre-order, really), but it might be a very small clue.

Why do people assume it doesn't have drake? No one assumes its narrated by the new antagonist?

Well that is a good point, it could be the antagonist of the game. Have to wait and see to comes a longer trailer.

Naughty Dog recently teased the world with the first trailer for a new Uncharted game which confirmed that they are currently working on an entry into the popular franchise for the Playstation 4. However, fans of the series were confused that the trailer was narrated by a mystery voice which didn’t belong to any character tied to the franchise. The voice has since been revealed to belong to actor Todd Stashwick who posted new pictures from his Twitter account on Nov 23 which depicted early motion capture work for the nextUncharted game.

Rather than having the voice or anything relating to series’ protagonist Nathan Drake, the first trailer for the upcoming Playstation 4 Uncharted title instead featured the voice of Todd Stashwick who hasn’t worked on an previous game in the franchise. The developer has yet to reveal who Stashwick will be portraying within the next-gen title.

Can't Waite for this game

Agree, it was first when Uncharted 1 came out I bought a Ps3 (was one of two games that made me buy it), will buy a Ps4 in good time for this game.

I can't wait for this game! I was late to the party on uncharted and played through all 3 last year in a row. Each game just blew me away and it really felt like playing an action movie which I absolutely loved. The games were just so much fun and I loved the stories in them and the action set pieces were just amazing in them. It better have drake in it though!

Same here. I will buy a PS4 when the next uncharted is out. I have a huge backlog (thanks to this year black fridays) of 360/PC/360/PS2 games that I need to play. Who knows I might get lucky again and buy a used PS4 via craigslist for hella cheap after xmas like a did with my PS3.

Perhaps we'll play as Sir Francis Drake.. :)
Figure out if Nathan Drake is just bragging, or if he really might be a descendant of him.. :p

spoiler for uncharted 3.
it was stated by the bad guy lady he is not a descendant of drake. he just started to use the name. Drake has no proof he is a descendant. Remember the ring of drake he stole from a Museum.

Was hoping for something completely new from them, but I'll still play this.

Talk about Co-op:

As rumours and speculation surrounds the release of Uncharted 4 reports suggest a proper co-op campaign storyline prospect could be in the pipeline. In an article on iGR they discuss news that Naughty Dog is developing a co-op mode for an upcoming game, along with reports of the company hiring a few new additions that could be an asset to their new title.

We understand that a few talents have been snapped up with Corrinne Yu the Halo 4 programmer recently joining the team, along with Drew Thaler and more places are mentioned within in company. The additional employees being taken on gives us reason to believe they are trying something new, although we are unsure if this coincides with Uncharted on the PS4.

"2014 marks a very special time in Naughty Dog's history and we'll have more information about what that means early next year," Naughty Dog said on its website.

The only announced new project from Naughty Dog, beyond new single-player DLC for The Last of Us, is an all-new Uncharted game for PlayStation 4.

However, it appears that we may hear about a second Naughty Dog project in 2014, as the company said it will share news concerning "all our upcoming projects" sometime next year.

Naughty Dog Teasing Uncharted 4? "Surprised no one has found Secrets we've dropped around Internet"

Jason said: "I’m just surprised no one has yet to find some of the secrets we have dropped around the internet…"

This secret might be related to Uncharted for Playstation 4 because no more story DLC is scheduled to launch for The Last of Us, final DLC will be available only for game's multiplayer portion.

That's bad news. I liked her writing. One of the best in the business, as far as I'm concerned. That is damage to Naughty Dog.

Sony on ex-Naughty Dog Amy Hennig: ‘People Change, Business Changes, Things Change’

Scott Rohde talks to IGN about the departure of one of Naughty Dog's most prolific employees.

by Colin Moriarty
MARCH 6, 2014

A few days ago, we revealed that storied game writer Amy Hennig was “pushed out” of Naughty Dog. Hennig has had a long career in the gaming industry before joining Naughty Dog back in 2004.

Hennig is best-known for creating and writing Sony’s ultra-popular, hugely successful Uncharted trilogy, and her exit from the studio – on bad terms, according to our sources – left a lot of people scratching their heads.

In a conversation with IGN, Sony’s Scott Rohde, the man in charge of software development for PlayStation’s roster of first party studios, said that Hennig’s exit wasn’t quite as dramatic as it seems.

“Amy’s one of my favorite people,” he noted. “ love Amy. How can you not love Amy, right? [She was] an amazing contributor to Naughty Dog and PlayStation. I’m always going to have the deepest admiration for her. But things change, and sometimes change involves very high profile individuals. That’s all that’s happened here. There’s nothing else. There’s no more to dig at.”

Pressed for more information on the fact that Hennig was seemingly fired – our sources note that she didn’t leave on her own accord – Rohde said that he’s “never going to agree with the term ‘pushed out’” when it comes to Hennig.

“I’m gonna go back with what I said before, and say that, again, people change, business changes, things change. And again, it just happened to involve a very high profile individual right now.”

Both Rohde and accompanying Sony PR reiterated that Hennig’s departure from Naughty Dog wouldn’t hinder Uncharted 4’s progress, and that its development “is unchanged completely.”

I don't know how much more scripted events I can handle before I let a naughty dog poop on their door step, :(

I'm sure visually it will look great and people will once again say how amazing it is.

Co-presidents statement.

Earlier this week we had to confirm the regrettable news that Amy Hennig has left Naughty Dog. She will be missed and, as we stated before, we appreciate the significant contributions that she has made to Naughty Dog and the industry in general. We wish her the best.

However, we feel it necessary to clear up a very important point that was unprofessionally misreported when the story broke. Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann were NOT involved in what transpired. It was very upsetting to us that dozens of stories were run, linking back to the same hurtful accusations in the original report. As co-presidents of Naughty Dog, we are responsible for all studio affairs.

Normally, we wouldn’t respond to rumors and speculation on matters that are internal to Naughty Dog, but because the personal reputation of two of our employees is being damaged we needed to set the record straight. There is nothing left to be said on this subject. Now we’re going back to what we should be focused on – making games.
