Uncharted - February 11, 2022 Staring Tom Holland

Speaking to GamesRadar’s own Connor Sheridan, Trachtenberg maps out what he does and does not want from the Uncharted movie’s story. “ have been approached with different versions of this tale,” he says, “and have always been not that interested in it because I didn't really want to trace the game.”

For Trachtenberg, imitation sounds less like the sincerest form of flattery and more like a quick-fire way to disappoint long-term fans of the action-adventure series. He continues: “I didn't really feel like it was at all worthy of making a video game adaptation, [if[ we're just gonna copy what the game is and just serve people a lesser experience than what they've experienced in such an incredible way.”

In fact, Trachtenberg believes “if Naughty Dog so chose to make another Uncharted game featuring Nate and Sully… this movie's story is probably the story that they would want to tell.”

If you weren’t already confident in the Uncharted movie director’s masterful handling of video game adaptation – he can already count 10 Cloverfield Lane and the Portal: No Escape fan-made movie among his burgeoning resume – his current mission statement should ease your fears.

*note Brian Cranston is rumored to play Sully

If Bryan Cranston plays Sully that would be cool... Having a bit of trouble with Tom Holland as Nathan Drake though.

Director is out :( Tom Holland first loses Stark, then the MCU and now this...

10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg has exited the project, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Tom Holland remains attached to star in the videogame adaptation, which has a Dec. 18, 2020 release date. Sony is seeking a new director and is aiming to start production early next year.

A new development is that this film will become the first feature production of Sony PlayStation Productions, which was set up on the Sony lot last year. Headed by Asad Qizilbash and Carter Swan, PlayStation Productions has come on to produce alongside Chuck Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, and Ari Arad.

Holland “Finish Uncharted, finish Spider-Man in February next year. Two press tours, maybe together, which should take six weeks worth of work.”

Such strange casting decision.
I think that the original idea was to have him be the young ver. of Nathan Drake, but this movie has been in production limbo so long, he's getting closer to the appropriate age now, yet weirdly in the middle in age, and imo, still WAY off. Maybe when Holland ages a little more... but then how would they know that?

This movie has had more directors quit than anything else I've ever heard about. It will be a bona-fide miracle if the end product is watchable.

Holland will look 14 until he starts decomposing in his grave at the age of 83 (if drugs and/or alcohol doesn't take him first).
Just a really bad casting decision imo, he doesn't even feel like a semi young Nathan Drake, he's too boyish.

Still not as bad as Marky Mark as Sully

Reactions: Swede and GordoSan
Best Sully by far would have been JK Simmons

I’d totally agree with ya if it wasn’t for his age, granted tech like Disney’s de-aging tech in marvel movies is pretty cool I feel we need someone who’d be able to do stunts and such for a trilogy, with possible spin offs that lead to a drastic downfall zombie trilogy where then Tom Holland could play the lead again....oh my vote would be Chris Hemsworth or Ryan Reynolds
