A bunch have been asking for it, and how they'll have it, a UnionVGF classified section.

Below are the rules, which will be fluid. Suggest any rule changes or additions you would like. The classifieds are not enabled yet. After some suggestions come in I'll make the final tweaks to the rules. If you see the word "resource," that's the same as "classified." If you notice the word "resource" anywhere, PM me, so I can change it out.

This is going to be a trial run. Anybody abusing the system, poor review, constant backing out of purchase, selling for a higher price than asked for because someone offered you more than person wanting to bid, will be gone. We don't need any of that nonsense. Sellers and buyers, do your due diligence like you would anywhere else like looking at eBay feedback since everyone here is starting with zero ratings.

The discussion threads for each classified IS NOT A GENERAL DISCUSSION FORUM! It' it ONLY for the listings. DO NOT SUGGEST PRICING OR ANYTHING. Ask questions about the listing ONLY.

How to make a listing.

All classifieds are moderated and must be approved by Plainview before being accepted in the classified sections. This is done this way to try and prevent any possible scams from being posted.

Price is mandatory. If you want to also include an option for best offer, put it after price.

Listings without in-hand photos will be rejected immediately. You must have item in-hand.

Listings by members without being a member for 30 days and not having a minimum of 50 posts will be immediately rejected.

How to purchase a classified.

PM the classified author. Simply put, "PM sent" in the discussion thread.

If the listing has an OBO (or best offer), PM the offer, DO NOT put it in the discussion thread.

I really like this idea, I have a lot of video game stuff I would love to allow the UVGF community to have an opportunity at first. Like for instance, X360 and PS4 versions of GTA V.

The rules look good. I like how the sellers will take photos of items to prove they have it. And, most important, the condition of items. With that say, I'm all for it.

Have a copy of Dead Rising I've been thinking about selling...so whats the story with shipping/etc? I usually charge about $3 for a video game and send it USPS first class in a manila envelope.

I'd want people to not attempt to make any profit off of shipping. That's something that always pissed me off on eBay and such. I'd avoid anybody that I felt was making money off of shipping. If it's a game I'd say include shipping in the price. Heavier items, get shipping estimate.

Make sure the package has some packing in it, i.e. the manila envelope lined with bubble wrap.

Shipping first class is usually around $2.85 for a game so with the cost of the envelopes + bubble wrap....$3, I would say is not really making a profit. The people who charge more for shipping on eBay are doing it so they pay less of a percentage to eBay for the sale of the game because when you charge $10 for shipping people tend to bid lower on the item you listed.

I wasn't saying you would be trying to make money, it was just a general comment. And you are correct about the ebay circumvention.

The average weight of games these days including the bubble mailer is around 6-7 ounces which is around $2.40 shipping via first class mail.

This is cool. I'll give a heads up here first lol. I'm going to be selling my 3ds xl. It's ambassador, and a hell of a lot of games including Animal Crossing, Link Between Worlds, Ocarina, tons more. Lots of classic and indies. I just never play it, maybe 50 hours on this thing. Still trying to come up with a fair price and a real listing with all included.

There are two sticky threads. Let me know what you think should be added to either.

Suggestion: add a notice in the Classifieds section making it clear that the rules etc. are found in the discrete Classifieds forum, -OR- somehow add the rules etc. to the Classifieds section itself (not only the forum).

Another suggestion: add to rule #8 that users should never send their PayPal money as a 'Gift', because doing so negates any buyer protection PayPal might otherwise provide.

Last suggestion: add a rule/statement that addresses 'Wanted' ads. Are they allowed? If so, how should they work (e.g. does the 'one item per classified' also apply to Wanted ads ... are prices also mandatory in Wanted ads ... etc.)?

[If you don't add the last suggestion, could you at least please tell me here? Thanks]

That's what I suggested. Make the rules the first sticky'd post in each classified sub-forum, so it's always right at the top of every classified section.

I can't see the rule requiring a mandatory donation to my PayPal with every transaction.

Edit: I also have a sh*tload of lube and rubber fists to sell so this could be really useful.
