Upcoming TCL TV's

The new mini led 8 series sets sound promising, waiting to see what the reviews are like when they come out supposedly this month. I hope they have HDMI 2.1, if I were to get a new set that would be a must with the next gen consoles coming next year.

TCL's mini-LED has over 25,000 mini-LEDs arrayed across the back of the TV. These are grouped into around 1,000 zones. Both of these numbers are significantly higher than what you'd find in a traditional LED TV. The 75-inch Vizio Quantum X has 485 local dimming zones, for example. No TV maker aside from TCL officially lists the number of LEDs in its TVs, but it's safe to assume none have as many as 25,000 (yet).

I'm skeptical on tcl TVs but I'll wait on reviews for this one. Mini LED is a transitional technology but if done right could hold me over until Micro LED is ready.

I've had one for three years. TV is awesome. Works great. Built in apps work perfectly. There was no TV back then under $2500 that performed gaming wise than the one I got. Only thing lacking was gray uniformity. I'm looking into their current 75" to upgrade. I have 10% off and can get it for nearly $1000.

I would like variable refresh rate and 4k/120 hz but might sacrifice them if the input lag is low or lower than previous models. It is the official TV of modern warfare ;)

Oh my son has a 6 series and it's been great.
Japan>China>>Korea in electronics

(TCL is Chinese)

Reviews starting to trickle in for the 8 Series:

Says local dimming affects input lag. But yeah, will probably me my next tv. 75”. The stand looks like it will work well for my tv stand. The current 75” would require me to turn the feet in.

I'm liking what I'm hearing just need a few more review from some places I trust and some consumer impressions as well. Not that I'm in the market for a new tv but I'm starting to get that itch.

Could it be fixed with a software update or would it be a hardware issue...have yet to watch the video

HDMI 2.0? I'd wait until the next model release that likely would have HDMI 2.1, with new consoles coming next year they'll have 2.1 features and the set won't be able to take advantage of them.

I have a few issues but this is probably the best 2019 tv for movies.

I hope something better gets announced for next year if not I may end up biting the bullet and giving OLED a try. I keep saying I won't do it but I later find myself tempted lol. I can't deny they do look incredible when I see them on display.

The gaming features of the C9 covers all the bases.
I don't like the much lower nit-
Burn in-
Non Quantum Dots-
LG-

Samsung Q9/8 also cover the gaming bases + have no burn in and DO HAVE QD's.
No Dolby Vision-
Samsung-

Don't like either brand

OLED is getting Quantum Dots and they will likely blow away the current OLED's.
Samsung might have some CES announcements.

I am waiting if nothing noteworthy is announced I will get one of the above at a discount.

Hoping on Sony,TCL or Hisense to save the day!

I just read up on Samsung doing quantum dots on OLED, it sounds like that's a few years away still :(
