Since Summer is just about over, and Fall is right around the corner, I thought it'd be fun to reminisce about past vacations taken recently or in the past. Even if just a staycation.

I got to enjoy a short, but fun weekend in Holland, Michigan this year. Beautiful place, great breweries (I recommend Dragon's Milk if you haven't ever tried it), and some beautiful parks and rivers. Great for fisherman too. Lake Macatawa was especially a really nice experience. Just beautiful to look at. Got some video of me crossing an old, rickety looking bridge.

Some people were bicycling on this thing like it was Trials HD. Decided to give it a walk, and it pretty fun, but nerve racking for me personally.

Nice. I'm originally from Michigan and will agree there's good brewies there like New Holland and Dragon's Milk is awesome.
New Holland is the company, that's right. We get Dragon's Milk in IL, but it's only the standard and maybe one or two items. I had no idea they had such a line-up, and it was all good too. We also went to Dutch Village, which was fun.

One trip I really liked was traveling from Michigan to NYC by Amtrak. I lived near the tri-state border and just drove from Michigan to the station near Bryan, OH. The train took a direct route to PennStation with just a long stop in Buffalo.

The train in much slower than a plane, but it is much easier to get up to walk around and stretch, go to the Bar Car, or chill in the Diner Car and have a sit down meal in a booth seat while watching the scenery go by.

I stayed with a high school friend that was living in NYC so nice to have a place to stay and they showed me around.

Right now, I'm just on short Stay-Cation because I need a break from the lame job I'm in. This might partly be job scouting time.

I'm poking at some Virtual Reality stuff in VR Chat and might put in time messing with creating avatars. VR Chat is initially a chaotic place, but some of the worlds are ultra chill experiences.

I'll also enjoy some cooking and bought steaks, chicken thighs, and wine. I just had an air fryer salmon with pesto and olives.

Also, want to poke at music stuff that has been neglected because my job kicks my ass.

So before I did Staycation and now I'm traveling for work, but did fit in some visiting time Workcation:

Another warehouse was short on staff so was asked if I felt like helping. They got me a flight from Pensacola to Fort Wayne, Indiana. So.... I did the job which was crazy delivering groceries to Kroger all around SE Michigan driving crazy long days, but I get Hotel layover pay plus my regular pay which gives a good pay bump.

Also, my parents happen to live just under an hour north of Fort Wayne, so I got fit in a visit after getting up here on a company paid flight. We did super basic early Christmas.

Otherwise, was crazy busy with the job, but also saw some of the city and found an awesome Greek Diner.

I guess it's worth mentioning I grew up in SE Michigan, so even while trucking to the Kroger stores, it was interesting to see the area again.

I stuck around here for 3 weeks, but now at Fort Wayne Airport chilling and waiting for my flight back.
