I think this is a good way for high-production value/short season shows to juice things up.
Throw 2 two hour episodes up on IMAX once or twice a month and then release them online/broadcast them a week later.

Shows like Game of Thrones and True Detective would become even bigger events and I think a lot of people would pay twice at least some of the time.
 
Could be a new avenue for TV shows to make a buck. Think about it, most of the time, these shows are making money off of advertising. If something like Game of Thrones or Arrow gets that special movie theater treatment with the episodes alone, then it opens up an obvious new revenue, but even more potential for creative control on the part of the show creators.
 
I'm down, a 1 or 2 hour episode of GoT is better than most movies I've seen in life anyway, much less current offerings, which are even worse.
