Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster has been announced to be in development at Capcom.



A remaster of 2002′s GameCube exclusive, Resident Evil 0, is currently in the works at Capcom. The new game will be called Resident Evil 0 HD Remaster and is due in early 2016 for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One.

The original game’s director and some staff members will return for the HD Remaster. Capcom promised more details in the coming weeks.

Here’s a message from director Koji Oda and producer Tsukasa Takenaka:


Resident Evil 0 is a prequel to the first Resident Evil. The game chronicles the outbreak of the zombie virus. It featured two characters that you could switch between at any moment.

At least 3 years too late,Crapcom. Funny thing I played this game and I don't remember any of it other than it was the last Gamecube game I finished until RE4 came out years later.
 
Hmmmm, I might bite on this one. I never did get to play RE:0. I was pretty pumped for the original RE remaster, though after watching a bunch of streams on Twitch I kinda got my fill of it...

If these big Japanese publishers are afraid or can't afford to make very many big budget games anymore, why don't they take the indie route?

2D is in a resurgence. Why not make new versions of some of their best SNES era games?

There is a black list of games that Capcom owns and apparently hates with a passion. Why they never rereleased Powerstone 1-2,Viewtiful Joe and Mars Matrix on XBLA/PSN is beyond me.

Back on the Ps1/2 64/gcn , almost 1/3rd of the games I paid full price for were Capcom.

The last one I got was Lost Planet I think... Now I roll my eyes as soon as I see the Capcom label.

They have a treasure trove of franchises that could be refreshed. Ghouls'n'ghosts would be perfect for a revitalisation.

Heck, I'd even prefer a prequel/sequel to Onimusha, than a half arsed port of these games.

They killed Street fighter for me, and they have definitely milked the RE licence to its death... Oh wait, maybe we can have one more Re:Code Veronica port. God knows 4 weren't enough.
 
Capcom milking HD remasters one by one. History repeats itself. What is this? The third or fourth RE remaster?
 
I want a Resident Evil 2 remake done just like 1 and 0 were.

It's a complete snoozefest. Instead of implementing a two player co-op campaign, they opted for this boring/under utilized and gimmicky single player Tag Team Duo feature. It's the least imaginative game play scenarios you could think of where the feature is utilized. Everything about the game you can see coming from a mile away, it's just dull. Graphically, the game was nice at the time, playing up more of the Gamecube REmake graphics. That's really all it had going for it.

It was so bad that it was the last Resident Evil game I ever bought. Completely turned me off the series. Capcpom has been eternally drunk ever since (actually that started with Street Fighter EX).
 
Thinking about all of these remakes/hd/collections, its actually made me appreciate The Matrix games.

They were telling the exact same story line, from a different angle. I think that would be an amazing opportunity for developers to jump on with these remakes.

Playing the exact same game, but from a guiding hand, or even as the hindrance would be original. There is so much potential to pack into a remake. The MCC gave a s***load of games, revitalized. I would have loved if parts of them were "re-imagined".

This licence has so much potential. And isn't a new movie about to come out? Or did Mila get spermed again?

Do a Tomb Raider to this Licence!!!
