Price was leaked by Walmart last week, but I still had a hard time believing it until it was official. INSANE price! Nothing could touch the original Quest at $400! They are going to dominate the market by a landslide withthe XR2 chip at $300! Including PSVR/2!
I predict that Quest 2 will be some SERIOUS competition for Sony and Microsoft this holiday. This is a major disruption for the standard console industry. Yes, they are different products, but there is now a new and viable choice to be made on how people spend their money during a console launch.
I held out for the Quest 2. Going to be an expensive Christmas. Although I hated it, the lockdown at least saved me some money so every cloud and all that.
I hope I can still sell my Quest next week. This absolutely buries it!

They’re inside out tracking. Track where you are in the world and where you’re looking. They also track the controllers which also use their own tracking inside.
Durr. I forgot I had the Oculus Go! I knew there weren't cameras on the one I have, but forgot I have the Go and that's why I was confused.
Yeah, haven’t used another VR headset since CV1. Expecting quite a step as far as screen door effect.
I'm expecting a HUGE jump from Quest alone. Pentile OLED pixel structure of the Quest is its worst feature, imo. The screen door is much worse than PSVR, even with a higher resolution. The industry is quickly moving toward LCD because the black level is getting much better, and you can get a much higher higher res screen for cheaper. Even Reverb G2 has an LCD, and that display is getting rave reviews... I can't WAIT to see if Quest 2 can compare to Reverb G2 for screen quality.
I pre-ordered the Quest 2 today along with the premium headstrap. My quest 1 sold for 300 yesterday on Ebay. Already had link cable from first quest too. I hope they get the 90hz software update for link play quickly.
Are you guys getting the 64GB or 256GB model? I pre-ordered the 256GB model, but I'm having second thoughts, as my 64GB Quest was fine for quite a few games downloaded at a time.
I'm going with the 64GB as I plan to use it mostly tethered.
I guess that makes all 3 of you, as Lucid Rifter seemed to be going for Link play, and Two Pennys Worth said his was £299.
F@ck it!, I just canceled the 256GB, and preordered the 64GB and Elite headstrap for $348 + tax. Seemed like a smarter move now, but who knows in the future. I wish it just had removable memory storage.
Can see myself buying the strap, Gears it’s supposed to make a world of difference when it comes to comfort.
