If I get it I'll pick it up on ps4 as thats what I had the first 2 on. I know it's a little weird, but I'm inclined to pick it up in large part due to wanting to show support to Clint Hocking, the game's creative director whose last game was Far Cry 2 back in 2008...

Honestly... this playing as every character, to me, sounds like a whole lot of copy/paste data randomly mixed together to have a whole lot of "unique characters" to play as. Seems like when, for example, dead rising 3 devs talked about how many different zombie looks they had but in reality when you looked at a horde, it really was like 10 different torsos, legs, heads mixed together randomly.
Would've been much more hyped if they just went AC origins/ odyssey with this and had great world with samey side mission style and good character arc tbh

That's me take as well. They gonna randomly generate actual personalities and lives? I don't buy it.

My issue is the weird concept of "anybody" being playable as if "anybody" would have the wherewithal to take on trained, armoured, occupying police forces. I still cringe in any media where people wearing armor and helmets are getting punched out (while still wearing them!). It's stupid- what's the point of the armor. If random people started shooting the Evil cops down in the streets, then the Martial Law would immediate kick up several notches.

Being average joe sorta takes the special out of the special actors that gaming puts us in the shoes of.

Ehhh, we have to suspend belief to enjoy gaming. I mean, come on we can face tank 47 bullets as long as we hide behind cover and let our health regenerate in most shooters. The first video in this thread starts out with narration about needing to recruit someone with specific skills so there's the set-up for how they can do what they do. I know, its a stretch to also believe everyone is an expert in hand to hand and firearms combat. But come on guys, its a game.

I understand what some of you guys are saying about the game. But for me the most important thing is that it looks like fun. I need to see more as I'm not familiar with the Watch Dogs series. But this is one I'll be looking out for as it gets closer to release. But the time of year this comes out is packed so its going to have to do something special.

Sure, but there is a difference in making concessions to reality to make a game fun, and chucking any aspect of a story we can buy in any sense. Not saying that's necessarily this game, but it all depends on what they are trying to achieve and the style of game.

I've never liked the defense that just because one thing isn't realistic, then nothing matters because it's a game. You gotta make it fit or at least consistent or it starts to unravel.

The retired granny assassin seems to be a hit with most people online so they seem to be onto something regardless of how "realistic" it is.

When it comes down to it, we can recruit who we want and if hacker granny is just too much of a stretch for someone to buy into, I'm sure they can look around a bit and find another PPC (potential playable character, haha) who better suits the type of character they want to use.

I wasn't planning on getting this one anyway. I bought the first two, but the sketchy moral justifications of the protags doesn't make me like them much. The overall fight against the surveillance state is fine, but the Anarchist bent where they screw with other people, their livelihoods, and personal choices rubs me the wrong way.

It would be one thing if it was a sort of unacknowledged game-play facilitation, but there is definitely a sense of deliberate moral justification. They are portrayed to be the "good guys"- it's not a situation where you are playing obviously reprehensible people like in GTA. It's like violent activism- the game.

I could never feel for Aiden either. He was exactly what he was "fighting". At least with him, the game criticized his choices and lifestyle via his sister.

If that's someone's jam- more power to you, but not for me, unfortunately.

I gotta say, the John Wick moment at 6:08 in the overview video nearly sold me on the game and just made me want a legit John Wick game even more.

I think the game looks like a lot of fun and already have it pre-ordered for PS5 but I do have a question for those of you who live in the UK. I know London is a diverse city but are white people really that rare in London? lol It seems like 80% of the characters are some other ethnicity, if this took place in a major American city I wouldn't even think twice and I have no problem with this it just stands out to me because I always pictured London to still be mostly white. Before anyone gets offended if this game was set in Pakistan and 80% of the people were white, Japanese, Korean, Cuban and Hawaiian I'd ask if Pakistani people were rare there lol.

I'm honestly glad that they seemed to have removed all that political BS. I may just give this one a look after all. As for Demographics, I think Whitey is somewhere around 60% in London, but it's harder to pin down than I expected, lol.

I keep flip flopping on this game. I originally didn't like what I saw. Then I was looking forward to it. After the recent videos, it's looking like a $20 game or less for me.

Welp, next gen enhancements consist of 4K, 30fps with ray tracing. Going PC for 60fps on this one.

I'd expect ray tracing to come at 30 fps. That's fine with me. No problems with 30...

Damn, I will be playing as a granny if I get the game.

Honestly...I have zero interest in this game...

I got the previous one for free and have little interest in playing it. Maybe after some reviews and more game play, it might pique my interest.

Watching a soft middle age woman crouching around is super cringe, lol. These characters would work better with move-sets and ways of blending in that are unique to their limitations and abilities, imo. Would be more interesting. Seeing vicky from HR going all Sam Fisher is dumb, imo.

Will wait for this to go on sale. The gameplay looks silly. I am going to be busy with AC Valhalla and Cyberpunk anyway.

Maybe it's just me, but doesn't this game look completely stupid? What am I missing?
