According to Watch Dogs creative director, Jonathan Morin, the game will be running at 30fps. "Right now the frame rate we're focusing on [is] a steady 30[FPS]." I'm not too sure how I feel about that. The game is large and expansive, but it's a next generation title. Do we give it a pass since it's a launch title for both the Xbox One and PlayStation 4? I think I can live with the 30fps but Morin was evasive when asked if the game will be running at 1080p or 720p. If the game runs at 720p/30fps, it will be terribly disappointing. Hopefully Ubisoft gets everything situated by the time the next generation rolls around and they deliver us 1080p/30fps for Watch Dogs. The game looks killer but they need to deliver on launch day. Here's to hoping they do...

Why are all next-gen games not requiring 60fps to begin with? Shouldn't that be a standard? If this is suppose to be next-gen...30fps should never exist on an X1 or PS4.

I was excited about this game after watching the E3 gameplay, but since then I've lost quite a bit of that excitement. I understand that a huge open world game like this is next to impossible to have running at 60fps on a console, but it definitely doesn't help my excitement level.

Frames per second is a design decision. You could make ANY game run at 60fps if you wanted...just lower graphical detail. But developers decide whether they deam 60fps as a requiremnt or not...many think locked 30 and high fidelity is better.

I actually am fine with 30fps in anything besides a racer.

I can't stand the lag in 30fps when looking around, 60 makes it so much smoother and faster. I really do wish though that it was a next-gen requirement to have a minimum of 60fps.

Until the developers catch up with the hardware, there's going to be a lot of games--some well worth playing--that don't exactly max the specs on either console. Just be patient and, hopefully, they shant keep you panting long.

So a current gen game ported to next gen consoles can't be 60fps? Ubisoft be trollin' like a mad man.
