NRS makes the best selling fighting games on the market someone is just sour and has no idea as to what he's talking about. This game doesn't sound like something NRS would be making although I guess it's possible since Grubb said they aren't doing it. I'm not against a game like this being made at all, WB has a ton of characters they have access to and it could be a lot of fun, I just don't think it's something NRS needs to do, I'd rather see them working on a new Injustice or some kind of DC fighting game.
It wasn't exactly kiddy/zany, but MK vs DC was rated T and people lost their minds because of it.
Gonna disagree, I absolutely would love to see their interpretation of a platform fighter. I feel like they're a large enough studio where resources can be divvied among teams.
They probably do have two teams, my guess is that they were working on two projects, one got put on pause and they have all hands on one so it could be a swan song or an all out next-gen fighter
I don't know, they do really good hard hitting fighters and most of these kinds of things are a bit more light hearted aren't they? I mean NRS has shown they can do humor with things like friendships in MK but I can't see them making a game where Gandalf fights Batman.
Yeah they weren't part of WB at the time they were still midway and there was no way WB was going to let them do real fatalities on the DC characters. That being said it was probably the best 3D game they made and the last, I'm so glad they went back to 2D after that. I'm surprised they let them put the Joker in MK11 and allowed full fatalities on him.
Personally if NRS isn't working on MK12 or Injustice 3 I'd like to see them do another action game like MK Shaolin Monks, hell even a DC game in that style could be cool. I'm sure they get tired of only doing fighting games but that is the studios bread and butter.
I don't see it being that far out the perview of their skills, and they could buck the trend and make a more mature platform fighter.
I'd like to see a MK / DC game, but with a focus on the darker DC characters. They've sort of Market Tested the reaction to Joker and I think it was mostly favorable. I'd love to see actual Harley Quinn in MK.
I would also so enjoy seeing Scarecrow in MK with Robert England back to voice. That was such a treat in Injustice.
Also, Mortal Kombat and Injustice have had characters traveling between them and they recall this in fight dialogue. I wonder if the idea of a full crossover game is being floated?
It might even be interesting to make this a main feature of MK12 in a way. The story ended with Liu Kang running the the Time Line at least for Earth Realm ( not sure if he influences Netherrealm ).
Quan Chi was conspicuously missing in MK11.
So my crazy suggestion is Quan Chi returned in the TIme Merger, but escaped to the DC Universe because whether Liu Kang or Shang Tsung won the crown and the Tower, he'd be fvcked. Maybe he teams with with Enchantress and they return to the main MK Earth Realm with other DC villain crazies.
Maybe some version of Dark Raiden returned to DC. He disappeared but should have returned when Raiden passed on his immortality causing the Liu Kangs to fuse instead. Dark Raiden might not have his powers though, but the Injustice universe Shazam is dead. Maybe the wizard would pass it to him?
This kind of project might be favorable because it looks like both the DC and Marvel cinematic universe or prepping for Multiverse stories. I think Netherrealm has been paying attention to the direction of the big superhero movies.

- Every alt is a full costume. Since the game is a WIP, some characters have multiple alts and some have none. The alts he saw include Pickle Rick, OG Harley, Bizarro Superman, Cake (female cat Jake), Pirate Tom & Jerry, Gentleman Shaggy. VAs change for alts
- It's %-based, like Smash, if that wasn't already obvious.
- Rick is projectile-heavy, and uses his portal gun, leaving portals that allies can go through, but not enemies. Also has an AoE attack that turns you into a helpless baby version of the OC.
- Tom and Jerry is more like Rosalina & Luma, with Jerry being Luma, except Jerry can't be hurt. Stuff like an attack where Tom swings a tennis racket and Jerry is the ball.
