The reasoning is that you allow a new thread for each article or topic within a category. Each page has a better chance to bring in a new visitor. But, I can see why you might not want the bandwidth increase.
Valliance is a Trump supporter? Well, I guess he would rather spend his political capital here on the forums promoting Sony rather than Republican politics.
Could also be that the catch-all thread topics we have like Weather/Disasters, Politics, Memes, Off-Topic, and sadly the Covid19 thread just cover most things on people's minds right now.

Yes, it makes sense to consolidate off-topic threads because this is a gaming forum. However if a thread comes out talking about a digital foundry video about the Xbox series X vs Series S performance that could be it's own thread within a sub-forum instead of all those kinds of articles being lumped into one mega-thread.

I guess everything turned out as best it could with this site. It could have turned out like Wecravegames and wecravegamestoo. Which one was it that Bunzhole owned?
I think hub_oiler owned the first and then riotous owned the second, but I might be wrong and I also don't care anymore.
Or that weird Hitchhiker Forum Darax tried to that seemed to slowly disintegrate. I think some idiots managed to get on the staff and fvck it up.
