Give us Zelda: Oot and HD Super Mario World and everything inbetween!

Absolutely. A few good Zelda remakes, and I'd be on board.

as much as they get accused of rehashing everything...the inter-webs would melt down if they did

Strong chance people would run out and buy a Wii U if Nintendo opened the floodgates and gave us a Zelda: OoT remake and others.

would love top see Nintendo let loose with a HD classic collection but it just seems unlikely. Believe the possibility of a Shenmue 3 or HL3 would happen first lol

Too bad. They could attract more customers that way. One of their biggest strengths is their library of exclusives. They could leverage that by providing next-gen treatments of old games.

That's really their only strength. There's no point in buying a Wii U for third party games. Get it if you like Nintendo games or you'll probably be let down.

Star Wars Rogue Leader and I will rebuy a Wii U.
THAT! Get the old Rainbow Arts/Factor 5 theme together including audio mastermind Chriss Huelsbeck. Even if you don't own the StarWars license, Turrican as a UNiverse might also be a nice addiction for the Wii U's library. Both HD remakes and a proper new sequel :).

I love remake HD games. There are a lot of games I never got the chance to play back then when I was young.

Me, too. For instance, I was never into Nintendo as a kid, and I never owned a Nintendo console, so I missed all those Zelda games. If they offered an HD remake package of three Zelda games from an earlier era (like Sony did for Ratchet & Clank, for instance), I'd find that really attractive.

I like the BC ability of the Wii U, but I'm not keen on going back to playing old games with old graphics. I'm spoiled now. But if they could spruce them up for a new generation, I would definitely be interested. They would be new games to me, available only on the Wii U.

But I guess, from what people are saying here, they probably would not do that. Maybe they figure that whoever is interested in those games has already played them on a Nintendo console, or are okay with playing them via BC.

Nintendo probably thinks that BC and Virtual Console is sufficient. Which it is for the most part.

I'm not sure how well Wind Waker did. But I would love more of those types of remakes.

You know rather than a new Nintendo HD game, I would love for SEGA and Nintendo to try and get the Appaloosa/Novotrade back together for a new Ecco. The Wii U second screen would be PERFECT for a Sonar Vision around you, and the updated graphics would do wonders as well.

Those "Hippies" really know what they are doing to make a game look graphically stunning (Still consider Ecco:Defender of the Future one of the Dreamcast's best looking titles and so epic), while putting out a hardcore game that would make most gamers weep in difficulty. Really so sad that DOF2 never made the life of day, as the DC plug was pulled so early, but from all reports it looked even better than the original.

It was really sad that they had to butcher their own game and name with that "Jaws" title film tie in that just didn't work, as Ecco games where always stunning, scary as heck sometimes and beautiful to a point of jaw dropping. I mean first time I met Big Blue in Ecco on the Megadrive, I almost shat myself :p.

"Okay.. here, now where is that thing.. why can't I find it.. come HOLY f***!" kind of moment, where the lights are dark.. speakers are turned up as you are trying to listen to some audio cues and you are a bit tired. Didn't help that in Ecco 2 they filled a whole screen with dozens of those Blue whales :p and a credit screen where you swim with them ;). Heck Ecco:DOF had a lot of similar moments like that. So an HD remake of DOF. Finishing DOF 2 or just a new game all together... I would reaaally enjoy :).

Who knows if Tom Baker would still like to do the Narration for that ultimate geek moment again.. and Tim Follin back on the music. Seriously that music was just stunning on the Dreamcast.

Edit:
A Screen of Big Blue (that suddenly comes up from the deep with a bassoon like sound ;)):

I can't find a nice screen of "Big Water" from Ecco 2 with dozens of these whales on the screen. Heck Ecco on the Dreamcast is even more epic, and there the music reaaaally helps. From the soothing sounds of the calm areas inviting you to explore... to the Kraken, Evil Dolphins and Globe Keeper's battles being really intense :).

On the other consoles, I've been saying I want new games not remakes, but I make an exception for Nintendo. Bring them on!

I rather have new titles myself, but a remake from SEGA's Ecco the Dolphin series? Including the Defender of the Future? I would not say no to that :p.

Especially the last one, that could look soooo beautifull and yet so menacing :). Ecco games always where surreal ;).

An HD version of Skyward Sword, Mario Galaxy 1 & 2, and the Metrod Prime series would cause me to go into hysterics, and throw my money at a Wii U. The first Metroid Prime is one of my favorite games ever. I think Nintendo should go back towards that direction with the franchise again.

I also do not understand the hatred towards Skyward Sword, I found it a Master Piece, and that art style.... WOW! I felt like I was part of an actual impressionist painting :). Yet the art style was considered by many to be "far to bright!", seriously the amount of "gamers" that want to have a "darker style that is more realistic and voice acting!" for Zelda is seriously bothersome. They forget that Link is designed to be generic so the player can identify with him and feel like it is him/her doing the heroics.

The impressionist art style wend completely over their head, how the colours where used to set the mood and make you feel the atmosphere. From the darkness surrounding certain bosses until the bright nature of Skyloft and the Skies surrounding it :). But then I do really love Van Gogh,Gauguin, Monet, etc using colours to set a mood :).

And yes I am aware that the first two painters I mentioned are technically "Post Impressionism" ;).

I loved Skyward Sword. The motion controls were actually good, and the story and world were one of the best in any recent Zelda title. The look of the game was beautiful and unique, as are most Zelda games from one to the next. Screw the haters of that game. Look how many people bashed Wind Waker when it came out, and now that game is considered a classic in the series by those who were willing to shut up and actually play it.

Yup, I really love the Windwaker HD remake. It really is well done in art style and makes you feel as where you a part of a 70's Japanese children's cartoon. I'm still amazed at the amount of emotion they are able to put into the facial expressions of the characters.
