Typically weird Philip K. Dick stuff. I'm curious to see how this finishes. I've also heard rumors this book is optioned for a movie.

The story follows a genetically enhanced pop singer and television star who wakes up in a world where he has never existed. The novel is set in a futuristic dystopia, where the United States has become a police state in the aftermath of a Second Civil War

Does the Bible count?

I've stopped reading for a while and been wanting to go back soon. Not sure what book to read, though. Still searching...

What do ya like to read?

I recently read: "Man in the high Castle" by Philip K Dick It's a typical Dick book, Sci-fi dystopian alternate future story. The Nazis won WW2 and basically have control if the world with the Japanese, one man's struggle journey in it.

Currently reading "All the Pretty Horses" by Cormac McCarthy. Good book so far, I like his books.

I haven't read that one but I hear it's interesting.

I finished Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said... It was decent but not one of his best.

Next, I'm thinking of reading UBIK

I pretty much jump around from one King book to the next. The Stand is my favorite book of all times. Last thing I read (all the way through) was "Under the Dome". Great book SUCKY tv series. MHO.

The ending of Under the Dome felt kind of flat. Like King was phishing for a good ironic ending but gave up.

I would have liked to see Big Jim wind up in Shawshank being bullied by the warden and guards.

exactly; the ending was a reach, for sure. Shawshank for Big Jim would have been great. He'd end up "preaching" to the inmates.

Finishing up this . Its been on the backburner for a bit.

Im going to be reading Forever war. I hear its the best military sci fi novel next to starship
troopers.

And yes I do read a lot more than just science fiction. But sometimes you just get the bug and have to crack open some Asimov or Dick, AM I RITE!

I just finished Max Barry's Lexicon. I like all of his stuff, but this one really is excellent.

Does anyone enjoy reading a lot of news from Cnn.com/BBC.com/etc. including blogs? I've found myself quite enjoy reading other people's opinion/share feeling toward something. It gives me a bigger point-view of how/what the world is like outside my life.

I recently finished Wool. I enjoyed it, but I also agree that it completely lost its way during the second half. I recommended it to a friend and he couldn't finish it.

I also finished the Ex-Heroes trilogy. If you like the idea of a zombie/superhero mash-up, you will like these books. They are entertaining in a Hollywood summer movie sort of way.

Also, I can't recommend Ready Player One enough, particularly if you have any affinity for 80's movies, video games and pop culture. They're already working on the movie, last I heard.
