What are you currently reading?

Kind of silly, but entertaining read.

So, I Skipped 1984( will read next) for now and started reading

I only really read it cause somebody described it as "Mystic River" type deal. Anyway, after what was a good first half of chapter one it has become a much slower read. Grrrrr. Only 25% in ( why don't Kindle show page numbers?) though.

This fooking book, seriously. I hate it. drags like a mofo, teases you rarely and all leads up to a very anti-climatic ending which isn't worth enduring the first 300 pages for:smash:

Always been a big fan of Smith's work, though his last few books have been pretty lacklustre IMO.

Going to give this one a go.

Trying to decide if I want to read for entertainment or something practical for job skills.

I keep looking at a Kindle book called Python In A Day that is a crashcourse introduction to Python Programming. I'm wondering if Python is a good way to go or if Ruby is in more demand.

Any biography recommendations ?

No celebrities please. Looking for more along the lines of important people through history. Preferably available on Kindle.

Full Rip 9.0

Basically a book about how my home State is screwed because we're long overdue for a megaquake. Although I don't think the quake or tsunami will kill most of the people in the NW. It'll be the lack of food and spread of disease.

I just finished This Book is Full of Spiders by David Wong. It didn't have quite the level of random weirdness of John Dies at the End, but both of these were great entertaining Kindle books.

Picked up Independent People off Amazon for a few bucks. Needed a new book to read.

After reading Hugh Howey's WOOL about a year ago. I finally started SHIFT.

Started this last night. Is a book of 22 short stories. Some big names to.

The Three Stigmata of Palmer Eldritch by Philip K. Dick

The Hell did I just read? This is a spiritual story involving drugs and hallucinations and control of perceived reality by a drug dealer seemingly from beyond death. Or something.

To be honest, I seem to know a lot of it already, but there are some interesting things I didn't know in the Networking sections, and the troubleshooting stuff is helpful for me.

How is that CCNA book ?

I decided to slow down and just do A+ with a Mike Myers book. I was hoping to just skip CompTIA bulls***, but I should probably do it.

Also, just finished this fiction book: Dr. Bloodmoney by Philip K. Dick

What happens after the bombs drop? This is the troubling question Philip K. Dick addresses with Dr. Bloodmoney, or How We Got Along After the Bomb. It is the story of a world reeling from the effects of nuclear annihilation and fallout, a world where mutated humans and animals are the norm, and the scattered survivors take comfort from a disc jockey endlessly circling the globe in a broken-down satellite. And hidden amongst the survivors is Dr. Bloodmoney himself, the man responsible for it all. This bizarre cast of characters cajole, seduce, and backstab in their attempts to get ahead in what is left of the world, consequences and casualties be damned. A sort of companion to Dr. Strangelove, an unofficial and unhinged sequel, Dick’s novel is just as full of dark comedy and just as chilling.

Yeah, the compTIA A+ seems like a decent general place to build off. You can branch off then in to more specific areas like compTIA networking+ or Security+ and then move on to things like CCNA, etc.

Also have this book that is interesting to read. I guess this is one of the core books of Taoism.

After reading that A+ technical book, it's a nice change of pace to crack this book open to read at the end of the day.
