What are you playing this weekend?

Beat FF7 Remake earlier this week so onto something new.

After having tried it a bit when I had a couple month trial to GamePass last year, I decided to grab The Ascent with the new DLC on PS5. Loving it so far. Big fan of this type of game and the cyberpunk world is perfect.

What would you rate FF7 Remake out of 10?

Maybe 8.5? Never was a big FF fan, although that might have just been because of the nature of JRPGs. Until Remake I had only played a bit of original FF7, 6, 8, and only beat FF13 and 15. I really enjoy the new combat style and the story of 7 from what did play of the original. Definitely looking forward to the rest of the trilogy and even FF16.

Edit:. I should add that I eventually played the game on Easy maybe 1/3 of the way through. Just got tired of how long some of the battles dragged on. Easy was too easy at times though where I would barely ever have to use healing, but then there would be fights where I was grateful it was on Easy because enemies would still do like 500+ damage in one attack.

This is my weekend. Unless I finish it early, which then will be TLOU2 and one of three: GT7, FM7 or PGA Tour 2K21.

More Blade & Sorcery, but now loaded up with Mods.

I have God of War weapons in the game now including Mjolnir and Ingrid which is set to be insanely sharp.

Some extra spells or spell tweaks.

Pirate Weapons including Saber and Flintlock Guns

A Soulfire Spell reanimates dead enemies to fight for you lol.

Played some dead space. Clocked maybe 1.5 hours in a single seating, my longest for a game this year.

I realized I am no longer a gamer. I only play games if there are the nice ones I like. I used to look for games that are long, but now I look for the opposite. 15-30hours is the sweet spot. When the game gets repetitive, I often stop playing like Wolfenstein and gears 4.

Same with movies, I only watch movies that are nice. I used to watch & movies & games regularly.

The only thing I am consistent with is working. That and going to Karate classes.

Last of Us Part 2 - done! I just need them to make TV shows for all the games in my backlog to get me moving. Up next: Horizon Forbidden West.

My backlog isn't too ancient right now!

Going to mix in some BF2042 with the new class update as well.

More Dead Space Remake and Skyrim Anniversary Edition (finishing up the Dawnguard questline with my present character) for me. I already thought the Dead Space Remake was a really nice looking game, but the new patch has cleaned up the graphics even more.

I am getting old. I no longer can sit all day playing games. 2 hours and I am like, that's it. I think it also depends on nature of game. Games that are challenging, I find it hard to play for long periods.
I got Dead space remake at launch, & only at chapter 4 (near end I think), & this is supposed to be a short game. But to be fair, like most survival game, I play like rogue games (one genre I hate most) that is if I play badly one session, I will reload until I get a good run (do not use excessive ammo & lose excessive health if at all). I also have the habit of running back to save points after any mob pack kills....which extends the game time.

I had bad experience playing RE and some other games in the past & being careless, end up out of health and ammo, making the game far harder then need to.

Which also explains why I dislike survival games in general. I do enjoy dead space though, but I am taking it very slow. Hopefully I can finish the game by march.
