The current one is a gem of a controller but I feel it’s a lil dated when compared its competitors in one aspect that may hold it back, especially if all consoles were to one day just go agnostic with their games, that being motion sensing.

The PS4 and Switch have it, granted not every game supports it but when it is its pretty neat...even if it’s gimmicky.

So, to quote Shuri “Just because something works doesn’t mean it can’t be improved.”, and my list.

1. Built in motion support
2. Dedicated share button
3. Make the home button capacitive like the Mercedes menu buttons on their steering wheels. It would allow it to be like a mini touchpad, which could have gesture inputs like swipe left/right (with your thumb like unlocking a phone) to capture a pic or vid or scrolling through a map.
4. USB type C support
5. Built in mic/speaker
6. Colour customization within the Xbox home button. Maybe capitalized on the chroma colours and effects on the next Elite controller ala Razer

Um, yeah I had more thing to list on my mind but I zoned out, so, I may add more to this later.

TIL, PS4's controller still has motion sensors. No game I own (around 15) uses it, and I have never found myself wishing any of them did.... One thing I would like is for the face buttons to be engraved. Back when I had a roommate who also had an OG xbox, he had a japanese controller S and the face buttons had their corresponding letter engraved in the button and just that bit of texture was a notable improvement.

Please no motion controls. A dedicated share button however would be nice.

Hope it is better than the current controller. I have had nothing but issues with disconnects and audio cutting out from the headphone jack. Not to mention the crappy undurable bumber buttons and the stick drift these controllers are prone to.

The 360 controller was so much bettter.

Just a question but is your wireless router near the console?

I ask that because my wireless router was initially almost right next to my Xbox One X, I for the longest time had issues with the audio on the headset crackling/popping and cutting out, occasional controller disconnect. As soon as disabled the wireless on my router and went to a optimally placed seperate wireless access point in the center of my home, all of the issues instantly went away. The wireless router was absolutely interfering with controller connectivity.

No. My router isn't close to the console. I have nothing wireless near it either.

We should all pool our money together to get you a new controller! I haven’t had any of those issues, but I use an Elite and I never used the headphone jack as I use the wireless headphones.

Even my standard controllers are working fine for my son.

I don’t want most of those features on my Xbox controller besides maybe a subtle yet dedicated share button.

The more features and the more parts the more likely the controllers will have issues.

I have had 4 new controllers for one reason or another. They are just poorly made.

My 360 launch controller still works perfectly.

My Day 1 controller sucked tbh, so I definitely agree with your point here. I will say that every edition I bought after like the first year turned out to work great.

What I want the most is standard paddles like the Elite has. Even make them detachable. They are wonderful, and I don't like playing without them.

I love the XB One controller it feels perfect in my hand. Only problem I had was with the controller that came with my One X it broke on me. My controller that came with my One S two years ago still works great and I bought a couple extra’s since we have a One S and One X in the house.

I really liked the 360 controller at the time but I had a lot of problems with those controllers. I probably bought 1 a year it seemed like. I play a lot of MP shooters back then and logged many hours in those days.

Anyone here have an elite controller? I won one from Taco Bell and it’s still in the box, well I took it out to bask in its majesty but haven’t found the push to use it yet, it’s so pretty too :p

I hope it has better build quality, my scorpio edition controller wasn't put together properly so the seams in the back weren't flush and it was sharp so I bought a replacement controller and that one has a shoulder button that was sticking right out of the box.

A dedicated share button and better D-pad would be great, also I think the triggers could be a bit wider to make them feel better when being used for non shooter games.

Have Scorpio, Titan Fall, Creeper, Elite. All work exceptionally well. Share button would be welcomed. I do have chatpad so I use it as a replacement for now.

On the chat pad you can designate two buttons for screen cap and clip, right?

Would two separate buttons for sharing be better?

Yes you can and yeah I never thought of it that way, but two would be nice. One of my gripes on my NOTE 9 is the fact that I have to choose photo/video/GIF when playing if I want to capture something.

One of my controllers did get a squeaky trigger button which is very annoying but on the whole well made and the elite is just fantastic.

Yes. Be careful though, once you've trained yourself on using the paddles (takes about a month before the become second nature), you will forever hate to use controllers without them. Looooove mine. Also, having two stored button configurations is awesome. With I could have more...

Haptics will be coming I am pretty sure as it's still catching up to the Dualsense.

Xbox has had haptics as well as rumble since the Xbox One debut.
Haptics on PS5 suck ballz.

Don't get why people want over complicated controllers. Crap like the PS5 haptics are far less useful than 2 back buttons, or Trigger stops for FPS games.
